T-Mobile The Underground

Everybody loves a limited edition product, and today T-Mobile launched a new site to help its customers more easily buy its limited-stock devices and feed that need for exclusivity.

Dubbed “The Underground,” T-Mobile’s new web page highlights “exclusive and performance-centric” products that T-Mo thinks will be attractive to “the true enthusiast.” The first device to be showcased in The Underground is the Copper Gold Samsung Galaxy S5, which T-Mobile says is a “limited availability” product. The page goes on to highlight several of the GS5’s features, including the gold color that T-Mobile says will “add swagger to your style.”

In addition to offering limited edition products, T-Mobile says that The Underground will offer news and reviews from the “tech literati.” As of this writing, though, there don’t seem to be any such posts on the page.

As I mentioned before, when a product is described as being exclusive or limited edition, it can drive people to seek that thing out and want it more than normal devices. The Underground can help consumers more easily find T-Mobile’s limited edition hardware and also occasionally highlight products that T-Mo has but others don’t.

Do you have any exclusive or limited edition mobile hardware?
