AT&T GoPhone tablet

After beefing up the data allotments of its GoPhone smartphone plans back in April, AT&T today announced that it’s improving its prepaid offerings once again.

AT&T says that customers can now add a tablet to its prepaid GoPhone plans. The big blue carrier has three different data plans available: a 250MB plan for $15 per month, a 3GB plan for $30 per month and a 5GB plan for $50 per month. AT&T also sells a GoPhone SIM card kit for $9.99.

It’s worth noting that in order to buy a GoPhone tablet data plan, you’ll need a compatible tablet. The full list of compatible devices is as follows:

  • Asus K005
  • Asus (TF300TL) Transformer Pad
  • Google Nexus 7
  • iPad 3
  • iPad Mini
  • Lenovo IdeaTab (A2107A)
  • Pantech Element (P4100)
  • Samsung Galaxy Camera (GC100)
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 (SGH-I467)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1” (SGH-I497)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (SM-T217T)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7.0” (SM-T217A)
  • Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9” (SGH-I597)

It’s great to see AT&T continue to expand its GoPhone offerings, especially now that consumers can get prepaid data on a tablet. We’ve been seeing cellular tablets get a lot of love from carriers lately, and now AT&T folk can get 4G LTE data on their slate on a monthly basis. Here’s to hoping that Ol’ Blue expands its list of GoPhone-compatible tablets in the near future.

Do you own a cellular tablet?
