LG G Watch official

Hot on the heels of Samsung announcing the details of its Gear Live, LG has spilled the goods on its own Android Wear-powered smartwatch.

After months of teasing, the LG G Watch will officially be put up for pre-order later today at a price of $229, which is $30 more than the Samsung Gear Live. In exchange for your hard-earned cash, you’ll receive a wristwatch with the following specs:

  • 1.65-inch 280x280 IPS LCD screen
  • 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 processor
  • 4GB storage
  • 512MB RAM
  • Android Wear (compatible with devices running Android 4.3 or higher)
  • IP67 rated for dust and water resistance
  • White Gold, Black Titan color options
  • 400mAh battery
  • 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm

The LG G Watch will be available for pre-order in the U.S., Canada, U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, South Korea and Japan. Shortly thereafter it’ll launch in 27 more markets, including Australia, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore and Russia.

Now that we’ve gotten the full rundown on the LG G Watch, will any of you be pre-ordering a unit? If you’re still on the fence, LG’s put together a G Watch promo video to try and sway your opinion.

UPDATE: As expected, the LG G Watch is now available for pre-order from the Play Store. You can plunk down $229.99 for your very own unit using this link. As of this writing, new orders are expected to leave the warehouse by July 3.
