Just in case the fact that a song dedicated to selfies isn’t proof enough that the art of self-portraiture is extremely popular, a new device from Sony should help to drive that point home.
Today Sony used its official @SonyXperia Twitter account to share the image you see above along with the caption “See your #selfies in a whole new light.” There’s also the date July 8, 2014, suggesting that Sony’s got something planned for tomorrow.
Thankfully for the more impatient among us, a batch of photos that claim to reveal Sony’s new device have leaked out today. Posted to Chinese social networking site Weibo, the images purportedly show a device called the “Xperia C3” that’s got a turquoise backside and what looks to be a pretty beefy front-facing camera, complete with flash.
We’ll have to wait until tomorrow before we know exactly what makes this selfie-centric phone tick, but Sony’s tweet suggests that it’ll pack a flash and perhaps some sort of wide-angle camera lens as well. It certainly sounds like a phone that’ll appeal to anyone that loves snapping photos of themselves and their friends, but hopefully Sony will include a few other respectable features as well to make a well-rounded device.
