Just like earlier this month when the HTC One M9 and Samsung Galaxy S6 were introduced on the same date, both devices are having their availability announced on the same day.
Samsung says that U.S. pre-orders of the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy S6 edge will begin on March 27, will a full-on launch scheduled for April 10, the same day that the HTC One M9 will launch. Both models will be available in Black Sapphire, White Pearl, and Gold Platinum and will have 32GB, 64GB, or 128GB of storage. Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge will be available on AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and Verizon, while the Galaxy S6 will be sold on Boost Mobile, Cricket Wireless, and MetroPCS.
Now that Samsung has announced the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge launch info, U.S. carriers should begin sharing their own release plans and pricing. Here's what we've got so far:
- T-Mobile will begin taking pre-orders for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge tomorrow, March 27, and pre-sale customers will get their units before the retail launch on April 10. T-Mo’s pricing for the Galaxy S6 will be $0 down and 24 payments of $28.33 (full price of $679.92), while the Galaxy S6 edge will be $0 down and 24 payments of $32.49 (full price of $779.79).
- U.S. Cellular will begin taking pre-orders on March 27. The 32GB and 64GB versions of the Galaxy S6 will be priced at $199 and $299 on-contract, respectively. Meanwhile, the 32GB and 64GB Galaxy S6 edge will cost $299 and $399 each. Both devices will also be available on installment plans that start at $0 down, and U.S. Cellular says that it’ll have both devices in White Pearl and Black Sapphire colors.
- AT&T’s Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge pre-orders will begin on March 27, both in-stores and online. Pricing for the Galaxy S6 will be set at $0 down and 30 payments of $22.84 each for the 32GB Galaxy S6, and $0 down and 30 payments of $27.17 each for the 32GB Galaxy S6 edge. AT&T says that it’ll have 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB versions of both phones and that its color options will be Black Sapphire, White Pearl, and Gold Platinum.
Sprint will offer the Galaxy S6 with an Unlimited Plus plan that includes unlimited talk, text, and data as well as “International Value Roaming” in Telefonica countries. This plan will set you back $80 per month for the 32GB Galaxy S6, but you can upgrade to the 64GB or 128GB S6 for an extra $5 or $10 per month, respectively. The Galaxy S6 edge is also available at a price of $85 per month with the Unlimited Plus plan.
Boost Mobile will sell the Galaxy S6 in Black Sapphire starting April 10 for $649.99 without a contract.
