Tom Klein - Co-Founder PhoneDog.com
Since phonedog.com was established in June of 2001, co- founders Tom Klein and Andre Refay have developed the site with a realistic philosophy in mind: to provide the consumer with un-biased reviews and information needed to make smart decisions when choosing phone products and services.
Real world life lessons by both PhoneDog co-founders contributed to the creation of the telecom comparison system. Tom Klein’s door-to-door sales of phone, cable, and internet services for a small regional communications company in Charleston, South Carolina provided him direct insight to what consumers are looking for. Andre Refay was working as an IT project leader for a web development company in Sarasota, Florida. Utilizing the knowledge they obtained from both positions, Tom and Andre created phonedog.com, which initially compared long distance services. In the past three years, phonedog.com has expanded its comparison’s to cover the entire telecom industry.
"Our philosophy of being an unbiased consumer resource for telecom services has been a rewarding and satisfying journey. We come to work everyday to continually grow and improve so that our visitors can effectively find and understand the information they are looking for with minimal effort".
Tom Klein's latest articlesAs of August 30, 2008, SunCom will officially become T-Mobile and will operate under the T-Mobile brand. SunCom customers will be absorbed by T-Mobile and most SunCom dealers will become part of the T-Mobile dealer network.
SunCom operated its own independent GSM network in several southeastern states where T-Mobile has had little presence. The acquisition should have little effect on SunCom customers as T-Mobile operates... Tammy Walker of Moss Point, MS won week #11 of the Phonedog Days of Summer Giveaway. Many thanks to Andrew over at INFORM for calling our attention to his company's video, "The Secret Life of Cell Phones." The video highlights the importance of recycling old cell phones (not to mention other electronics and anything else suitable for recycling). Check it out - it's pretty eye-opening to see what happens to your gadgets after you throw them out, and how recycling them can help other folks out as well as helping to preserve our... Last month I had the opportunity to talk with consumers on Bob McCormick's Money 101 radio talk show on KNX1070 in California. We got the chance to chat with callers about various problems and tips on how to choose the right cell phone and plan. I've listed a summary of our discussions which includes a lot of helpful information
According to Consumer Reports’ largest-ever survey of cell phone users, only 47 percent of people say they’re... The 4th quarter of 2005 was a busy time for Pioneer Telephone's President, Peter Bouchard. In October, Pioneer acquired the long distance customer base from Adelphia's long distance division. Adelphia filed for bankruptcy in 2004 and its customers from various divisions needed new service providers which were awarded to various companies.
Pioneer has been known for it's responsive customer support and efficiencies, but even good... 2005 was an exciting year for us at phonedog with the addition of new comparison services, a re-designed site, a few new staff members, and much more. While we continue to expand on our telecom comparisons, I want to assure our visitors that phonedog will continue to provide un-biased reviews and useful information to help you make good decisions before purchasing any phone product or service. We understand that there are many sites... First off, let me tell you that I’m basing this article on my personal knowledge of phones, not any poll or scientific study. It’s been quite clear to me and the staff at phonedog that over the past 18 months the newer phones just aren’t as durable as they were just a few years ago. This may be due to the fact that newer phones have more features than ever before and are more like miniature computers with advanced...
