Nextel commercial back yesterday during football!

On a personal note, I wanted to say how excited my friends and I were yesterday when the funniest Nextel commercial was back!  For those of you who may have missed the games yesterday or don't remember this commercial, it is hilarious.   Three co-workers are sitting in an office with an old school boom box, blaring the song Oooh Baby Baby while two of them are dancing, (if you can really call it dancing).  Another...

Just when you thought RIM couldn't make the BlackBerry any better...Think Again!

Just barely a month ago I told you about how BlackBerry had finally introduced the 7100 series for Nextel customers and how exciting it was.  Well RIM has surprised me again by introducing a new line, the BlackBerry 8700 series. Currently only available for Cingular customers, the new 8700 series was introduced to replace the 7290 series.  This much thinner and lightweight mobile is the first BlackBerry to come equipped...

Why was my marketplace listing denied?

Here at PhoneDog.com we take pride in reviewing each potential marketplace listing before it is posted.  A standard guideline is used before a final decision is made to approve or disapprove a listing.   Some examples of denial reasons include inadequate listing description or quantity and listing price discrepancies.

How can I get a cell phone that is listed in the marketplace?

To purchasing a cellular phone that is listed in our marketplace all you have to do is contact the seller.  The marketplace was created to give consumers an opportunity to list a cellular phone that they were no longer using.  The marketplace is free to use and is open to anyone needing to sell their cellular phone.  It's important to also remember that PhoneDog.com is not responsible for the accuracy of the...

Are all of the phones I see on your site brand new?

No, all of the phones being shipped by the distrubutors Foncentral, Let's Talk, and Wirefly are brand new.  Only phones listed as refurbished would be just that.  The specials for these new cellular phones are available via the website because of the quantity of phones ordered and shipped a day.  Each distributor also offers mail-in and instant rebates that help the consumer get that great deal on a new phone.  So...

The reason behind the cost difference for calls made to land line numbers versus cell phone numbers overseas is because in some Countries mobile users do not pay to receive a call on their mobile phone. This is known as calling party pays. Mobile carriers therefore charge more to the calling party to connect the call.

Why do I have to pay a USF fee for long distance services?

The USF fee (Universal Service Fund) is required by federal law to be charged by all long distance service providers.  The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has set the current USF rate at 11.7% for all long distance calls.  That means if you were to make $10.00 in long distance calls during the month, you would be charged a USF fee of $1.17 for that bill. The fund offers support to telecommunication carriers in rural and...

Can I switch to Cleartel services even if I currently have high speed internet?

Yes you can switch your local and long distance services to Cleartel without interrupting your high speed internet.  High speed internet is a completely different service than DSL.  The reason DSL customers are unable to switch to Cleartel while keeping their DSL active is because that is a feature providered by their current local phone carrier.

Which long distance companies will pay me for the switching fee?

In researching each long distance company that we compare at PhoneDog.com I was able to discover that half of the companies will credit you back for the charges while the other half won't.  But remember, even the companies that do not credit the switching fee have incredibly low rates, and will make up for that small fee in the long run! COMPANIES WHO CREDIT SWITCHING FEE OPEX PowerNet Global Total Call International...

Switching fee, What's that?

A switching fee may be charged by your local phone company to change the long distance carrier code (PICC CODE) on your account.  As you saw in the previous question, some of the long distance carriers may credit you for this fee. It should only be a one-time fee that ranges from $5 to $10.  Keep in mind if you have to pay the fee, it will be well worth it when you start using your new low long distance rate!...
