4.7 overallOver all great service
By Kevin Wells, posted: Apr 09The good: great calling service. Pricing is a little higher than some of the other companies. The bad: Charged for text messages even after blocking that feature!Summary: Very dependable service across the country. I full-time in an RV and have service throughout most of my travels. I have traveled with many other people using other Cell companies, they end up having to use my phone to make calls, as their phones had no service. Prices are a little higher than some of the other companies but I feel they are worth it due to the reliable coverage I get.
I think the phone and services you use makes a huge difference in how well any cell service works. I use the Sony Ericsson W300i and have had no issues. I do not text or use the internet services.
I have thought about switching to Sprint, because of their $99.99 everything plan, but changed my mind after talking to current Sprint users. I did not hear any say they were happy with Sprint. 5 out of 5 bad reviews, tells me to stay with AT&T
5.0 overallAT&T - Cingular
By jessie bryant, posted: Mar 09The good: large phone selection and plans to fit your style. Better plans then all the other company'sThe bad: There a bit pricy Summary: I've been with At&t - cingular for 4 years now. I have never had a problem - never dropped a call I have free roaming free long distance which is great for my family inutah west virginia etc. I even get roll over minutes. Every time I called customer service they have always helped me and even have a 24/7 late niht number there always on call - this is the best plan / company I have ever had I plan to stay with them. The only thing I dont like is there plans arnt cheap but you get great service
1.0 overallCan't Wait Until The Plan Is Up!
By Rita Metsch, posted: Feb 09The good: Good RatesThe bad: Bad customer service, added fee's to every billSummary: Have a family plan, good rate but there are always added charges to my bill! Customer service is not helpful in anyway. They will never ever reverse charges regardless of your claim that you did not use these services. It's your word against theirs and they always win. Will never have At&t again!
1.0 overallHorrible!
By Sherlie James, posted: Feb 09The good: Phones are niceThe bad: Horrible service, customer service, and overall experience. LONG hold times, at least 15 minutes everytime. Summary: I would never recommend to anyone! Switching out very soon!
1.0 overallwhat ever happened to good service....
By Joseph S, posted: Feb 09The good: I hate to say it but there is nothing positive about AT&T. The bad: AT&T's acquisition of Cingular was the worst thing that has happened to "Cingular". AT&T "reach out And destroy good service" please bing back Cingular without the AT&T!Summary: I was a loyal customer to Cingular service since Cingular first came out. I think that was the best cell phone service I have ever had. There was responsible billing, great customer service, and my bill was actually something I look forward to. Now I get charged for "Looking at the phone" before I even make a phone call. When I heard AT&T was taking over Cingular I cringed because I knew that was the end of Good service. The service has gone to the dumps with AT&T and I can't wait for my contract to end so that I can finally be one of the many who will make AT&T bankrupt. AT&T "we drop calls as well as customers".
1.7 overallscam artists with horrible customer service
By ron ron, posted: Feb 09The good: good rate plansThe bad: billing dept, and customer service, almost no reception indoorsSummary: Customer of 8yrs Have had many strange bill increases for no reason of $100 or more. Had my address get changed some how and sent to a women in another city. They billed me $150 for an item that was returned late even though they could see it was mailed out and in transit 4 days after I purchsed it.
2.3 overallCustomer Service
By Paulette Belcher, posted: Feb 09The good: Good CoverageThe bad: Terrible Customer Service Policies, poor staffing in stores.Summary: Buyer beware. You have no recourse with ATT if you ever have any service problems. I have a new Blackberry past the 30 days (5 months old). I am told I will have to wait a minimum of 5 business days to get a replacement phone during which time I will be totally without service. I travel 100 miles + daily and rely on my phone for emergencies and in the event I have car problems on the road. I will receive a refurbished phone (someone else's problem phone) and no additional extension to the warranty. The CS reps were very nice but are not allowed to go outside ATT rules regardless of the circumstances. ATT is and has always been a very uncaring and unconcerned organization when it comes to customer satisfaction. Their overall ratings bare this statement out from other surveys, and they still make no effort to improve or to take care of long term customers that they have never had any problems with. What does this tell you about ATT? Draw your own conclusion.
2.3 overallCustomer service SUCKS
By Carolyn Pilgrom, posted: Feb 09The good: Excellent network, rarely drop calls, decent corporate discountsThe bad: Pricey, horrid customer service, warranty/insurance no help when phone is brokenSummary: I switched to AT&T from T-mobile, the network was GREAT compared to T-mobile, but I have had SO many problems with them. It too 2 months with hours on the phone to finally get my number ported over from T-mobile, all the while I still had to keep T-mobile and pay the bill. When my screen exploded on my Blackberry Curve for no apparent reason AT&T told me I had to pay $450 for a new one because screen failure voids the warranty, but because I had paid for phone insurance it would only be $299 for a replacement. It would cost me less to terminate my contract and go to Verizon, so I think that is what I am going to do.
5.0 overallOnly the best!!!!!
By Miles Maxie, posted: Jan 09The good: Pretty much everything, great service, fantastic policies. The bad: I wish C/S was open 24/7 and they didn't put you on hold so long.Summary: I was with AT&T, then Centennial...sorry i ever did that! I switched to be on someone elses plan, thinking it would be cheaper....wrong!
Now:
AT&T didn't make me have a contract! I bought a pone on ebay for $50 (brand new, in box) and they told me "No contract"....which they lived up to!
Now, I am contract free. and if i ever DO sign a contract, they are so awesome as to reduce the cancellation fee by $5 every month (so, in 10 months, $50 off the fee.) Cool!
Their C/S is good, we had a slight problem when porting my number, but it wasn't their fault, it was centennials.
No roaming, no long distance, free cid, v/m, detailed billing, and a smooth transaction.
A++++++++++ Glad to be back and would highly recommend to ANYONE!!!!!
1.7 overallNeed to shut down
By J W, posted: Nov 08The good: I liked the idea of having a known name. Good coverage. The bad: Know one seems to know what is going on.Summary: Tried for 3 months to roll over from pay as you go to contract, keeping my same numbers 3 go phones. 600 miles latter dozens of calls and still not resolved. Will be looking for another company. Thanks AT&T it is your numbers so why can you not move then where a customer wants them? Talk about DUH!!!!
