3.3 overallUse A NEXTEL phone on Boost
By Bart, posted: Jan 12I have had Boost since 2009. I had NOTHING but heartache. CONSTANT dropped calls, 2 day delayed texts, people couldn't reach me, etc. Here is the interesting part, all the time I had problems, I was using BOOST phones. A friend of mine on NEXTEL gave me a I580 for free. I put my SIM card from the Boost phone into the i580 and, all at once, I mean AT ONCE, all the problems disappeared! The NEXTEL phone works great! After all, BOOST is iDEN and that means you are using the NEXTEL network anyway. Seems the NEXTEL phones are the answer, I have a friend who also did this and all is well.- 1.3 overall
Not what i was expecting
By Juicy_Justice, posted: Jan 12Ive had boost before and never really had a problem with them. Now that I have the android phone im seeming to get all types of issues. Dropped calls and poor to no connection coverage. Im confused as how they say they have 3G coverage and it never works. If im indoors you can forget about my phone working. I have had Verizon off and on for years and i finally had enough with the $100+ monthly bills. So i thought going back to boost since they had android phones would be worth it...boy was i wrong. my suggestion is don't offer a service if the company can not keep up with it.
1.0 overallHorrible. Dont waste your time or money!
By steph roberts, posted: Dec 11You dont have good service on your phone, so the phones cut out alot. you CANNOT contact anyone when you have a question(just the machince) I felt like they do not care about anything but a quick dollar... i NEVER write reviews on any company, but i feel like this is necessary! I dont want anyone to get taken advantage of like i did. if your looking to start a new phone, my advice would be to avoid boost at all cost. even cricket is better than them . I moved on the Verizon, and Boost is in NOOOO comparison with them! -steph- 1.0 overall
Customer service is crap
By Kevin Sheridan, posted: Dec 11I had been with boost for 5 years, and yes the price is good. But as others have stated there customer service is garbage. I was told I had never signed up for the shrinkage plan, yet every time I call the automated line it comes up I am, also they never get the right ending to my credit card till 3 months before I quit the serivce due to the previous issue. I was also told that I had changed my plan to a daily plan yet I never authorized anyone to change my plan. - 1.0 overall
CUSTOMER SERVICE IS A JOKE/SERVICE IS ALMOST AS BAD AS CUSTOMER SERVICE.
By Deniella Pourthie, posted: Dec 11I have purchased three additional handsets since being with Boost only to find that it is not the handset....I just can't use my phone upstairs in my home. As long as I am standing outside with perfect weather conditions, it's fine. I just recently upgraded to an android phone that I purchased on sale for 140.00 and have had so many issues with lost calls or bad connections that I basically have stopped trying to use the phone indoors! Can't wait until my business starts to do a little better so I can go to a real phone company. - 1.0 overall
HORRIBLE CHEATS!!!
By Beverly Kirk, posted: Dec 11After having purchased a boost mobile phone, activating it I was told they did not have service in my area!!! They gave me a phone number and everything! Then refused to refund my 53.00 I paid for the service plan or give me documentation stating that they did not provide service in my area so I could get my money refunded on a charge back through my credit card. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. DO NOT USE BOOST MOBILE. THEY WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND RUN!!! - 2.0 overall

5.0 overallI've had them all but Boost is the Best
By Origene P, posted: Oct 10The good: Of course the price{Ive got the blackberry plan}, I live in Buffalo and the service is great(never had an issue} I guess some people who live in more rural areas can complain but I don't know anything about that. The 3G speeds are pretty decent, the youtube app on the curve 8330 sucks but if you get the opera mini browser you get better quality videos from youtube. I've called Customer service once or twice to pay the balance but have never had any issues. The bad: The phone selection is a bit limited. They don't explain that the IDEN phones are on a slower network so the web wont work the same as the CDMA phones. The motorola I1 might look enticing but its got a slower processor than other android phones and the network speeds are slower due to the phone being an IDEN Summary: I've had most of the other carriers (tmobile, verizon, and even Nextel before sprint bought them) the service was horrible with tmobile, I lived on the second floor of an apt building at the time and had to hang the phone out the window while talking on a wired headset to make calls. Verizon I had most recently and they will just nickel and dime you to Death. Nextel was just too expensive from the beginning. Boost mobile is definitely the best option. I constantly stream media while im at work, im connected to my friends with the facebook app. I shop on ebay with that app, I can go on and on. Definitely the best phone service I've ever had and I cant see my self switching anytime soon
1.7 overallMy Boost Mobile Horror Story
By Yossarian N., posted: Oct 10The good: Strong signal, plan pricesThe bad: HORRIBLE SERVICE REPS, UNDERHANDED TACTICSSummary: The customer service for the company is horrible. I had called and asked about a refund for money I just paid that day and to see about switching me plan. The first rep(REP ID QZ281626) said, I can not do refunds. Not that the company doesn't. So, confused on her answer I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor said I will give you a refund for the balance in your account since we can not give you a refund for the payment just made. She transferred me to the Processing Department. The rep there(John, REP ID 0011) told me that Boost Mobile does not give refunds. I said I don’t understand why the supervisor told me they would be its whatever, nothing anyone can do, I will deal. But then the first rep called me to harass me and say "haha, I told you you can't get a refund". I called back to complain and sent a email to them regarding it. The two days later a rep(Melissa, REP ID CR894942) called me ask said we will give you a refund because of what happened. But once transferred to the Processing Department, the rep there(Julian, REP ID 0992) and her supervisor(Colleen, REP ID 0684) told me that despite the fact I was called as told that i would be getting a refund that they could not give me one. I was switched back to customer service where the rep( Marge REP ID 1337619) once again said yes you are suppose to be getting a refund and switched me back to the Processing Department where the rep(Brandon, REP ID 10607) where once again I was told I would not be getting a refund. I emailed them about what amounted to a slap in the face they gave me by calling me and saying they would refund me due to there rep using my customer information to call me and then saying no not even 10 minutes later. I got a call two days later from a rep(Mary, REP ID CR527602) who said that Boost does not give refunds. I explained to her that I was told because of their reps actions I would be getting one despite policy. I then talked to her supervisor(Tracy, REP ID CR554135) who told me that despite the fact that yes it is listed on my file to give me a refund that because the Processing Department and Customer Service does not share files and notes that Processing could not see that Customer Service had given the ok to refund me. She also said in a very bitchy way that no she would not talk to the Processing department to get me my refund. That despite being promised a refund by Customer Service(who can't give refunds but can give the ok to give them) that the Processing department did not have to give it to me and they didn't have to make them. They are set up in a way that one department can tell you that will do something knowing that the other does not have to honor it.
5.0 overallGreat service, can use tough as nails Motorola iDEN phones
By t v, posted: Aug 10The good: -Starter Kit allows use of older/tougher Motorola IDEN phones
-Great service, clear calls, decent texting
-Unlimited $50/month is a bargainThe bad: -'My accounts' at boostmobile.com is a little too simplistic
Summary: First of all, I would like to say that I absolutely love my boost mobile service. I was paying almost twice as much with T-mobile for their unlimited min, text, and web. Second of all, I enjoy the fact that I could dig up my old reliable nextel phone and use it with boost. Their starter kit comes with a new sim and a $10 account credit...all for just $20 at radio shack. Call quality is clear and crisp, texting is decent (although on some high traffic nights...like fridays...there may be a little delay with sending/receiving), and web browsing is great. My i355 works seamlessly with Opera Mini, I can check espn scores, weather radar, news, and even process credit card payments for my company on it (the openwave browser that comes packaged on most IDEN phones is garbage...upgrading to opera is a must to take advantage of unlimited web)
Call quality is great, albeit, with any IDEN phone, I would recommend one with an extendable external antenna if possible...they arent the coolest looking things, but they work great.
My accounts at boostmobile.com could use a little upgrading, but all the basic features are there, you can change your plan, add money, check activity, etc...and thats about the only con i can see with boost mobile.
