5.0 overallGreat service, can use tough as nails Motorola iDEN phones
By t v, posted: Aug 10The good: -Starter Kit allows use of older/tougher Motorola IDEN phones
-Great service, clear calls, decent texting
-Unlimited $50/month is a bargainThe bad: -'My accounts' at boostmobile.com is a little too simplistic
Summary: First of all, I would like to say that I absolutely love my boost mobile service. I was paying almost twice as much with T-mobile for their unlimited min, text, and web. Second of all, I enjoy the fact that I could dig up my old reliable nextel phone and use it with boost. Their starter kit comes with a new sim and a $10 account credit...all for just $20 at radio shack. Call quality is clear and crisp, texting is decent (although on some high traffic nights...like fridays...there may be a little delay with sending/receiving), and web browsing is great. My i355 works seamlessly with Opera Mini, I can check espn scores, weather radar, news, and even process credit card payments for my company on it (the openwave browser that comes packaged on most IDEN phones is garbage...upgrading to opera is a must to take advantage of unlimited web)
Call quality is great, albeit, with any IDEN phone, I would recommend one with an extendable external antenna if possible...they arent the coolest looking things, but they work great.
My accounts at boostmobile.com could use a little upgrading, but all the basic features are there, you can change your plan, add money, check activity, etc...and thats about the only con i can see with boost mobile.
4.3 overallSWITCH TO BOOST!!!!! STOP WASTING MONEY!!!!!
By asf asdf, posted: Jul 10The good: LOW COST!!!!! NO HIDDEN FEES!!!!NO CONTRACT!!!!Great coverage, Unlimited talk/txt to any carrier, Unlimited Internet/Email Access, Great phone(I have the Sanyo Incognito)Best phone service ever- I am totally impressedThe bad: None that I can think of...possibly a cheaper quality handset than the average on the market but I have absolutely no complaints with mine. I love itSummary: I always believed the big guys like verizon and att had the best coverage - not true. I had verizon for several years and the bill kept increasing. I didn't have unlimited talk and I didn't even have a data plan and was paying almost $100 bucks a month!!! It was ridiculous. I switched to boost for a few weeks before cancelling with verizon. I was soooo happy with service for the price. I can go on facebook, email, google, google maps, talk/txt anyone on any carrier for 50 bucks a month. The service is excellent. I have only lost a call once or twice since I started. Most every call - to verizon, sprint, att are all crystal clear. I cancelled with verizon, it was a no brainer.
1.0 overallterrible service boost mobil coverage/ Creative billing with Verizon
By James James, posted: Jul 10The good: Boost Mobil; Inexpensive cost without hidden fees. VS. Verizon wireless; good coverage
The bad: Boost Mobil has terrible terrible coverage even in areas of proposed good coverage. VS. Verizon wireless creative billing practices
Summary: I am not joking, boost mobil drops or breaks up half the calls i make or receive. I have had text messages and voice mail that arrive days later. now they are trying to correct the problem by offering to sell me an external antenna that attaches to the back of the phone. this phone company is unreachable and irresponsible. and as soon as verizon gets with the realistic money program I am going back to them because they have good service, but verizon has creative billing practices, they will screw you if you go over on your plan. They could easily send a courtesy text message when a customer is at the limit of their plan but they play dumb about it. Verizon customer service told me they couldn't possibly monitor all of their customers plans and minute usage. I told the customer service person that i understood that he was not responsible for policy but that someone in his company had made that B.S. choice and he had to take a hard line about it. He then went on to inform me that the program is available if I set it up in my phone. Make up your mind... just do it for us as a service like offering free ring tones or voice mail or texting, But it was to late I had already decided to fire Verizon thats right I fired Verizon, that sounds odd but it is true. I may hire them back some day... or not. the problem is this: Verizon does not want to loose a line item in the profits. but it will cost Verizon more when they loose hundreds of thousands of customers families like my microscopic 4 member family . Hay Verizon your a telecommunications company you can text your customers we are not foolish we are poor do not confuse the two . For now its Boost (Sucks) Mobil. Im going to try the antenna. lol
3.0 overallBOOST MOBILE OVERALL SERVICE
By ARTHURO ALCORTE, posted: Jun 10The good: CHEAP, UNLIMITED MINUTES, INTERNET USAGE WHICH IS BECOMING MORE USABLE, ANDROID IS A BIG +++++The bad: INTERNET SERVICE ON CERTAIN HANDSETS ARE LIMITED, POOR SERVICE IN WAL-MARTS LOLSummary: OVERALL THE BOOST MOBILE SERVICE IS GREAT FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO DON'T WANT TO PAY OVER $50 FOR UNLIMITED SERVICE. THE ANDROID GIVES AN OPPORTUNITY TO ENJOY THE ADVANTAGES OF A HIGH TECH (APPS, INTERNET BROWSING, VIDEO STREAMING)DEVICE AT A LOW MONTHLY PRICE INSTEAD OF PAYING OVER $100 LIKE OTHER CARRIERS. NOT AS GOOD OVERALL AS OTHERS BUT SUFFICIENT FOR ME. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
1.5 overallNot Good Customer Service
By kamran khan, posted: Jun 10The good: Cheaper service and Unlimited talk, text and WebThe bad: Poor Customer Service, Very Rude , Summary: Boost is good company but i think the company had hired some poor customer skills people and they are very rude and don't wanna talk to customer or help for example Yolanda who hangs up phone on me. The cell service sometimes it gets signal or some times doesn't depends on cell mode i think after major Complain is CUSTOMER SERVICE GET RID OF THOSE BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE PEOPLE IF YOU WANT COMPANY TO HAVE MORE BUSINESS
3.7 overallBoost mobile
By David Sohn, posted: May 10The good: great plan cheaper than the big guys. The bad: did not work in Podunk TN.. lolSummary: All in all i love boost. and at the time you called the rant probably wasnt available. However the rant is a diferent type of phone it does not take sim cards. kinda like the new blackberry does not use them either. however you can use ANY used, new, or refurbished boost or nextel phone with the boost service. I am currently using a blackberry 1700I with my boost service... my wife has the rant and our old phones were the clutch... all pretty good phones and service..
5.0 overallI love it
By Victoria nona, posted: Apr 10The good: Great Price The bad: Not a lot of phone selection but that is starting to changeSummary: I have had boost mobile for over a year now and have never had any real issues....infact when I was with contact carriers I had issues every week. They dont have a lot of selections with phones but that is starting to change. I have the BlackBerry curve and it works great. I rearly lose signal and the areas that I do are complete dead spots for all carriers in this location.
I know some people do have poor service with boost but not every service works for everyone, some locations get better service with certain carriers only----like with any purchase with any phone/carrier--you need to check your coverage for your area and if you dont then DON'T COMPLAIN its your own fault!
5.0 overallNot yet a subscriber but excited to be joining Boost
By Nicholas Hunsaker, posted: Apr 10The good: 10 cents per minute without the hassle. This is awesome and just what I need after being overcharged at Verizon for the past several years. The bad: There seems to be some disgruntled people commenting on here. Makes me wonder who they're representing.Summary: This seems like the most straightforward, what you see is what you get, no-contract service for cellular users in the US. God bless America. If Boost keeps their rates reasonable and offers promotions to long-term customers then I'll be happy to stay with them for as long as possible.
5.0 overallno problem at all with this service
By Mark Evans, posted: Mar 10The good: I have had bad luck with sprint and metro pcs, talk text and web is great, I have a no problems in 2 years I have had it.The bad: noneSummary: this is the best service I found since went to other companies who wanted outrageous deposits from me.Those who say boost mobile sucks needs to get a life and get their facts straight.
2.0 overallThe Real Unbiased Deal.
By Nakeya Johnson, posted: Mar 10The good: Repeatedly: Great Price, Best Prepaid Deal Possible, Very Affordable. The bad: BOOST MOBILE Phones Are Not Reliable, Late Text Messages, Dropped Calls For No Apparent ReasonSummary: I Have had a boost mobile phone plenty of times. The only reason why I would get it again is because it fits my budget. Other than that, I Would never get a boost again.
1.) The phone i776 Earpiece almost always goes out. If YOU have this phone your earpiece will most likely go out and you better use a blue tooth or speaker. Everyone I Know has had this problem. And when they send it back to motorola they say that it was water or physical damage when in most cases that is completely inaccurate. Dont believe me? Google It!((Bad For Business))
2.) The battery never stays charged. You can have a full battery and without barely touching the phone, it will shut off. (Having this problem for years.)
3.) CHARGERS, CHARGERS, CHARGERS!! The charger for these phones always get a short in them, causing one to replace them every chance they get. I honestly think that they make the majority of their money on new cell Phones and chargers. I think Motorola and Boost are getting it Good!
5.) For some reason, the text messages take FOREVER to get to the phone. I have no idea if that is the service or Motorola, but that is horrible to start an old conversation the next day, because it takes a long time for the message to come through!
4.) Honestly, if you want a quality or decent phone they you should simply buy a nextell phone and put a boost chip in it. Their phones for some reason are of much better quality.
I would not recommend any one to buy this phone service unless they absolutely need to. Otherwise, if you want this to be reliable. It AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN!
***Customer Service Is somewhat helpful.
