1.3 overallNOT WORTH IT
By ash tos, posted: Jul 07The good: they normally have good service, often in places other carriers do not provide serviceThe bad: constantly raising priaces to screw over customer, workers are to busy sitting to help customerSummary: Cellular One is not worth it. At first it appeared as if I was getting a good deal. I went with the prepaid service. At first I was only charged for text messages I sent at a rate of 10 cents per message. They then changed it to 10 cents for anything I send or recieve. A few months later, the cost went to 15 cents incoming and outgoing messages. They also used to offer bonus amounts of minutes when you added more money to the phone. They have now taken these bouns minutes away because they "lowered" their rates. HA! I have yet to see this. Finally, our power went out not to long ago and when it came on a few seconds later, my phone lost service for a half an hour.
4.0 overallstop counting minutes
By Mindy Gall, posted: Jul 07The good: the ONLY carrier that has unlimited minutes, anytime, anywhere! I have 2 children in college and these are our only phones. No surprises. Monthly bill is always the same! Never had issues with customer service that other carriers don't also have. Reception is great. Not so many fancy phones? I want a PHONE. their phones are high quality. The bad: cellphones are simply not as good as landlines. It's a choice. Summary: i recommend this carrier to the people whose children text, talk and surf the internet. Even calling Italy hasn't been a disaster! But if you need the iPhone, then this isn't for you.
1.0 overallCellular One bytes!! I hate it !
By Aliscia Lindon, posted: Jul 07The good: cant think of any..The bad: Every single bit of their company..
They also have crappy phones, the best one they have is the krzr which is what I have, and also the Hp pda phone.
Summary: We have been with cellular one for appx. 3years now, and my parents wont switch companies. I got in some serious trouble because the company screwd up bigtime! I downloaded THREE ringtones, and one wouldn't transfer so i tried the try again option, and uhm.. well i did the try again a bunch! of times and it still wouldn't transfer so i gave up. When the bill came around, it charged me for EACH of the redos which was Ridiculous! So, for that one bill alone, they had charged me over 400$ in downloads alone!
Which was insane! I now no longer have internet on my phone, Thanks alot Cellular One!!
1.0 overallI HATE THIS SERVICE DON"T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Joline Nordhaugen, posted: May 07The good: None this company is nothing but awfulThe bad: I hate this company. The customer service is awful, free nights don't start until 9, they charge you half the time for mobil to mobil calls, reception is the worst I have ever seen and we live in the middle of Green Bay!!!!Summary: I strongly suggest to anyone who is looking into this company to reconsider. This is a terrible mistake that you will make and be stuck with for 2 years. They don't even really allow one year contracts anymore!!! Also it is 20 dollars a month to cut this service per month that is left on your contract so that is like 960 dollars if you have it one month and decide it's bad. They don't stand by their products, they give you the runaround more then anything. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY IF YOU HAVE ANY SENSE WHATSOEVER!!!!
4.0 overallCellular One
By Robert Freitas, posted: May 07The good: Excellent signal. I recently moved to Alabama and I still get amazing signal everywhere I go in the state, even in places others do not get service. Signal in Alpena was perfect, no dropped calls, always at least 3 bars. The bad: Billing people have problems getting things straight. Summary: One problem I have had with Cellone is when they changed their txt messaging billing setup, and started charging for incoming and outgoing messages. They doubled the txts on my line, but forgot to read the shared txts to the other line I have, which caused some problems. The other was when I first got a second line, they failed to share all the features that were on the main line, including mobile to mobile, which made for expensive bills considering the other line was got just to be able to call me on mine.
Other then those two snafuu's, I have had no problems with them in the 4 years I have had them as a carrier. I just extended my contract with them up in Michigan even though I live in Alabama now because they have such great signal down here, and the prices are better then they are down here.
1.3 overallBeware of what they tell you!
By chris dabney, posted: Mar 07I went from the old digital plan to the new GSM and was told that i would have double the minutes. Well the first time i went over my so called 1250 minutes i got a $400+ dollar phone bill. My minutes were supposed to be double the 1250, so that would have gave me 2500 minutes. This is what the lady told me when i signed up. They have a record of the lady telling me this so they took off $250 worth of the bill. So i ended up with 1800 minutes now for a little less money. They didn't refund me any money from a previous bill that i went over the so called 2500 minutes either. I have yet to use 2500 minutes but they ended up getting over $100 more dollars of my money! So beware of what they tell you and get their name and a copy of the contract. It could save you money and over 2hrs of wasted time that i had to have a phone stuck to my ear and being put on hold.
3.7 overallnice job
By tabitha coyne, posted: Feb 07The good: we have no problems with the phone Nokia. My husband has the black and he is a truck driver. uses it every where. He also has the blue tooth usees it all the time in the truck. But to me sometimes it can be nosey from his truck. I use mine all the time for to-do list. I have no cut out time on it I use the text too. We send pics all the time. The bad: Some areas don't get a singnal as well if at all. Depends on how the clouds are.Summary: When I have a Problem at all with aanything I call them and I have nice cust. service. Some of them are not up to date with the system. But I just ask for someone esle to help me. They have no problem doing so.
4.0 overallGreat for small rural areas
By Neva King, posted: Jan 07The good: Great service in my area; customer service is excellent; reception is goodThe bad: A little more $$ than other companies; some dropped calls; 1 or 2 year contracts, not much choice on free phonesSummary: I've been a Cellularone customer since 1998. I doubt I'll change. I might pay a little more than other companies around here, but I feel like the service availability Cell One provides in the more rural areas where I live makes it worth it. 2 year contracts bite, but I've found that I can simply buy a quadband unlocked phone on ebay for variety. Easy to understand plans/options. Overall, I'm very pleased given the options available in my area.
5.0 overallCellular south-best company
By SHERI ROUSE, posted: Oct 06The good: Wonderful plans availabe, state of the art phones that always stay up to date. After hurricane Katrina hit, Cellular South was one of the first towers to work. I was able to use my phone when other people around me couldnt use theirsThe bad: I have no consSummary: I love this company adn have never used any other in the past 5 years. I have never thought of using any other
2.3 overallFour years
By Judy Meyer, posted: Oct 06The good: detailed bills, phone usually worksThe bad: some areas do not get receptionSummary: Have used CellOne for 4 years now. Only went with them after asking many cell phone users who thay had and how their reception was. Most people recommended Cellular One so thats why I tried them and stuck with them. There are areas where I get no reception, but have heard other servers in my area are worse yet.
