Terrible just like everyone else says.

Posted on: May 8th, 2008 by John Smith

The good: None that i can see. Cheaper's not always better. The bad: Customer Service rude or unavailable. Dropped calls.Summary: My parents bought Cricket on a whim. We can't have a conversation that doesn't get dropped atleast 3 times before we finally give up trying. They went to a Customer service building surrounded by a lot of other angry customers. They were told to go back to the store where they bought it. Of course the store sent them right back to customer service who said they're out of luck. Cricket has an aggressive marketing campaign that's entering my city where my parents phone won't even work? Buyers Beware!

My mom in a Nursing home bought a Cricket Cell, which allows only 2 minutes of talking time per call.

Posted on: April 24th, 2008 by Linda Millard

The good: unlimited time to talk BUTTTTTThe bad: IT Cuts off your phone conversation within 30 seconds to 2 minutes of talk time at the most. Summary: My elderly mom bought a cricket cell phone, which allows her to talk 30 seconds to 2 minutes and then drops her call, or cuts her off the telephone, and she cannot talk, until she calls back for a quick 30 second call. We have talked 7-30 minute times in one-day. I want to buy her a care package of items she needs. We have yet to finish our conversation and am unable to send her a care package. This is simply awful service for a new cell phone to do this to an eldery person. There is no service person, whom you can call to help her with this, unless you call the store she purchased it from. John was very nice and would see what he could do to fix it. I would not buy this product. I use trac phone and they are a better reliable cell phone than the Cricket is.:{ ;[

DO NOT USE

Posted on: April 23rd, 2008 by ADAM LONG

The good: UnlimitedThe bad: Service area, customer service, when you make a peyment be sure to get a reciept!!Summary: I?ve had Cricket now for two years. The service area has seamed to shrink instead of grow. I?ve gone threw four good phones in two years - that alone is crazy. When you need help with your service, Good Luck! You can?t get a hold of a person and when you do they don?t understand what?s going on. The ice breaker was when I made a payment in cash at a branch location for $50. A week later my phone was shut off due to NON Pay! They were unable to help me locate my payment. A week later at the same branch my girlfriend had the same issue. When she asked for a receipt after she paid they replied that there printer was down????Please it?s not worth the savings? Ohh Yeah? What savings ? they made me pay twice in one month!!!

Understanding the CSR's

Posted on: April 1st, 2008 by Lisa Ecklund

The good: Unlimited text, calling (within the US), unlimited pics. The bad: The Roaming package doesn't always work where they say say it will!Summary: Really my only complaint with Cricket is the Customer Service. As seems to be the norm with most if not all Cricket customers. When calling for billing questions, tech. support or any other phone related question I have NEVER been able to get one person that I can understand. And not in a comprehensive manner. These people speak limited and very broken ENGLISH!! I dread whenever I have to call! It makes me crazy! If I were to ever switch to a different service provider, that would be the reason!!

Customer service/ Defective phones

Posted on: March 10th, 2008 by Shari Shelton

The good: No contracts or limit on minutesThe bad: Defective phones. Poor customer service. Summary: I have had service with Cricket (2 lines) for 4 years. I like that I don't have to worry about my daughter using too many minutes. However I paid $215 for a new phone for her in November. It was defective right from the start and ended up taking it back in January. I then paid $45 MORE to exchange it on the manufacturer's warranty and was told I would get a $35 credit within 3 to 4 weeks. They would keep $10 for shipping and handling. I don't think I should have had to pay ANYTHING but said that was fine as long as I got $35 credit. I called today and was told the manufacturer determined there was "missing or damaged" parts and I would NOT get a credit! SO now I have paid $260 for a phone that is a worthless piece of junk! She is already having the same problem with the new one! (Freezes up and screen goes blank!) The customer service was extremely rude and did not even TRY to help! I would also like to say that I think it is ridiculous that they will discount their phones for "New" customers but if you've been a loyal customer for 4 years, FORGET IT! FULL PRICE! (ANd this is where they make their money because the prices on their phones are RIDICULOUS!!!!) That's the price you pay for no contract and unlimited minutes!

Cricket Service & Phones

Posted on: March 2nd, 2008 by Barry Bingham

The good: You never have to worry about your bill, unless you don't pay your bills on time... then there are late fees. You can talk and text all you want and whenever you want. Very simple and "to the point" cell phone provider. A lot of very nice phones to choose from. No contracts is the best! Very inexpensive for unlimited minutes!!The bad: Customer service number is difficult to deal with. Some of the phones have issues and if you don't take care of your phone, chances are... you'll have to buy a new phone or pay for another through insurance if you have it. Since they don't have contracts, they are limited with what can be exchanged through manufacturers warranty. Insurance also sometimes isn't worth it, but if you calculate what you spend on phones AND service in a year time... it's ALWAYS cheaper than what you would spend with Summary: Words to the wise: It's not expensive at all... so I recommend doing your best to pay your bill on time or setting up auto bill pay so that it's never late. Their billing system isn't the greatest and sometimes bills can be confusing if you pay late all the time. Although not as big of a company as some others, Cricket is very dedicated to providing great service and making sure their customers are satisfied. I found that you will get treated how you treat the employees. If you are honest and treat them with respect, most employees will do what they can for you. If you go in demanding things and expect them to do something they can't, don't expect anything to come out of it but a headache. Remember, they are limited to what they can do because of the fact they have no contracts and unlimited service. If you are honest and friendly, most employees will do whatever they can for you. Keep in mind, even though you may have to buy a new phone once a year or so... you are still saving a lot of money and stress compared to most companies.

BUYER BEWARE!!!

Posted on: February 15th, 2008 by Jackie Harris

The good: Cheap Rate PlansThe bad: Horrible customer service. The phones are of poor quality and they are expensive. Summary: If you have service with Cricket, getting ahold of a rep on the phone is easy and they usually provide acceptional service.! Many people have turned off their phones and then two months later recieved a bill in an excess of $120 or more. Then when you try to call Cricket, because you are no longer a customer You cannot get through to a live person. In the meanwhile, they send out literature stating that if you come back they will wipe out your previous bill! LOL.

Deceptive Marketing

Posted on: February 6th, 2008 by Peter Jorgensen

The good: No long term contract. The bad: Very poor customer service in person and on the phone.Summary: Very rude customer service, both at the local Cricket store and on the phone. I was transferred several times, disconnected and the problems most likely were not solved because of underpaid customer service reps who spoke little to no English. It was a very bad experience and I would never recommend this to anyone. Even if this is a first choice because of so called low price plans I still took a loss in the pocket book. Look for something better because it may be worth the money you will not save with Cricket.

High Prices but overall good service

Posted on: February 2nd, 2008 by Tommy Morris

The good: unlimited plus more unlimited.... great for people who dont want to watch the min.s they talk on the phoneThe bad: small amounts of local coverage area, small choice of phones,Summary: I use Cricket everyday and is great in the city I live in.. But it takes a long time to go over to roam once the phone leaves the local area. The rates are fair, and it is easy to pay my bill because I can pay it at my local gas station. The best thing I like is cricket is like a landline phone but is portable and you can call everywhere in the US for free
