1.0 overallbuyer beware
By gary brault, posted: May 09The good: good if you only need local serviceThe bad: nation wide roaming sucksSummary: If you just need a simple phone service, and can wait forever for a text message to get to you, then get this service. Don't pay extra for the nation wide roaming it sucks big time, I was told there is only a 50/50 chance you will be able to get voice messages, and you have to use a land line to call your cell phone number to get your voice mail when out of town, of couse they don't tell you this when you sign up for the $5.oo/mo service, so you have to pay long distance charges to get your voice mail when you are out of town.

By james warmey, posted: May 09The good: very cheap plan at only 25.00, nice looking u340 phoneThe bad: service is terrible lucky to get 1 bar, phone didnt work and cricket took over a month to replace, and only when i contacted thier parent company leapwireless, service is none existant.Summary: i've had cellphones for over 20 years now and this is the worst service provider ever. get what you pay for.
1.0 overallWanting to kill something and break the phone
By Shaun C, posted: Apr 09The good: Cheap ratesThe bad: CUSTOMER SERVICE, PHONES and stupid people that work thereSummary: Okay heres the deal I have had 10 phones since Sept 08 its now April 09 first set was a promo deal (never do that again) second set was to replace the first ones refurb POS. So i figured okay lets go to a store and not do this on-line anymore. I went in to a store bought 2 samsung messenger phones to the tune of 400 and some change and got the insurance( DO NOT GET IT) So here is where all the fun starts. These messenger phones are nice I will say that for them but the speaker has gone out in one of them and the phone is about 45 days old to the day. So i spend 4 hours on the phone with someone from a hole in the desert someowhere I think to get told we will put this on the ins. I'm thinking okay well what about warranty?????? But hey he works there right. So i go to store location to return phone to find out one they don't have the phone and too I now have to pay them $85.00 because of how the ins. is. I don't even pay half for my house or car on a deductable why would I do this on a phone ...... It gets better after leaving the store upset (about being lied to about the ins. when I got it.) I called samsung (they were cool) they said send it back no problem they will pay for shipping and what have it but it would take 10 to 15 days. So they said take it back to cricket it is under warranty still and you shouldn't have a problem... (little does samsung know) So back to calling customer support I talked with a supervisor ( I think he was in the same hole) He said oh yes it is under warrant take it to the store and they will exchange it. Back to store I go again..... I get there this rude little B**** behind the counter goes well you have to pay us $45.00 dollars for exchange under warranty. I am like why sumsung does not charge this. Well its our policy and if you don't like it deal with samsung I can't do anything else. So I ask will I be credited during the time it takes to get my phone back and with this attitude she had going why should we credit you we aren't the prolem the phone is not to mention I bought the phone there. So after 2 hours of arguing with this twit I finally got the district managers number in New Mexico which kind of gave the same response but could not tell me why no-one ever says anything about these additional cost till something actually happend so 10 phones latter $1300.00 in phones and charges I still have nothing resolved other than they would like to give me $20.00 in a flex bucket account (YEAH RIGHT) and sign another line of service. Oh and one more thing roaming on there system does not work at all. So moral to all my ranting if you have to pay a additional fee because or a credit report I am alredy out 1300.00 with these no contract dip s*** might as well waste the money on something else and at least get what you pay for....
1.0 overallAs bad as all the other phone service providers!
By Sandie Gee, posted: Apr 09The good: No contractThe bad: Limited service area
Poor customer service (in store and at 1-800#)
Phones are expensiveSummary: Everything works in theory. I recently purchased a phone and get so-so service within the Chicagoland area. However, despite paying for "Premium Extended Coverage" when traveling (specifically California), I was unable to use the phone. Unable to call, text or get on the mobile web. The worst part...used my alotted 30 roaming minutes per month even though I could not make one single call from the phone while in California..go figure. After several attempts to resolve this issue with customer service I was told I needed to go into the store where I purchased the phone. Hello - I'm in California, I bought the phone in Chicago!!! And the closest store in California - there were none!! Overall, in my short experience (one month), they are not all they promise. Maybe they are having growing pains, but I'm so glad I'm not locked into a contract, although I will have to eat the price of my phone.
1.0 overallcustomer service
By patricia henry, posted: Apr 09The good: customer service will not admit to fault EVER! I've talked to many for the one month I had the service and what a ridiculous run a round. I wish I could find an email address where I can ask them where the hell they received their inservice fromThe bad: Love the phoneSummary: If someone has an address where I can email my hundreds of problems with customers service, please let me know.
1.0 overallCricket wireless net
By Zee Hang, posted: Apr 09The good: Just a week ago when we got the wireless net from cricket and already it has cause us problems. The SMS is not safe if you have kids! The bad: READ BELOW BEFORE YOU GET THEIR WIRELESS NETSummary: I was very excited when we first got it, but than when we first started using it, it is way slow to download anything and the SMS messgage is not safe for kids cause people you don't even know would send dirty sms to you and cuss and everything. I said it's not a safe net cause of the SMS, if you got it for your kids make sure people don't go cussing at you or your kids or try to lure them. Thats why i'm taking it back for our money cause we have kids and i want them to be safe from anyone so getting this net for them is not a good idea.
I'm telling you people this cause it happen to us and thats why i'm taking it back for our money. If you still want to get the cricket wireless net, than good luck people cause it'll stress the heck out of you.
1.0 overallManager watches porn while in store
By Kris Allen, posted: Apr 09The good: Nothing good to sayThe bad: even worseSummary: Was in store buying my 13 year old daughter a new phone, seen manager on 7th st location looking at porn site he didnt realize i had noticed and hurry and changed screen when i walked closer. Not A very good idea while at work! keep it at home!!
3.7 overallAMAZING
By James Michael, posted: Mar 09The good: Unlimited everything, Cheap, Decent amount of phone selectionThe bad: Bad costumer service, not good coverageSummary: Cricket is an amazing choice if you don't travel much. I rarely ever travel out of my area so i don't need to pay 400 extra dollars for a popular phone company. Costumer service is bad because no one speaks english and they'll do more harm then good if you call with a problem or are trying to add roaming minutes. i just go into a store to do things like that. but i love cricket, no hidden fees, my bill is the exact same every single month! i love it! i've been a costumer for 3 years and have never had a dropped call(have had a few just because i left service or hit a bad spot but never randomly just dropped a call) and all my texts get there and i receive all my messages. i'm thinking about switching to boost just because their not much more expensive and you get regular service...
1.0 overallSucks.
By Brandi h, posted: Mar 09The good: Unlimited everything. The bad: Suck phone. No service in half the country. Get text messages like seven hours after they're sent. Calls are lost all the time.Summary: I've had my phone for like, a week, and it is annoying because I'll be on the phone for like 5 minutes and my call will just get disconnected. Or people text me and I finally get it up to like 5 hours later or not at all. My mom wanted me to get it because everything's unlimited, but it's really not worth it.
I'd stick with a well-known cell phone company if I were you.
1.0 overallNO SMS From Internet
By J M, posted: Mar 09The good: inexpensive, uses Verizon Network, nice phonesThe bad: Has blocked messages from the internet from Cherple, Skype, etc. Really bad customer service, not knowledgeable and boardering on nasty.Summary: Cricket, hip, cool, non-functional. What can I say, they want to appeal to the young demographic but do not provide basic functionality. So you think you are getting unlimited SMS, but it is very limited.
