1.0 overallCoverage map shows wrong info - but I still can't get my money back
By Joe Jacoba, posted: Mar 09The good: Low costThe bad: Unreliable coverage maps -
No customer service with actual decision authority to refund the $25 activation fee.Summary: Don't use a company that can't stand behind their product by refunding customers that want to try them out! You might get what you pay for.
Their coverage map showed our home in the middle of an excellent reception zone. That's what I used as my criterion for trying them. In reality we have zero bars. I had a hard time finding anyone who could talk about refunding any money. The store referred to Cricket themselves while Cricket referred me back to the store. Eventually I found someone on the phone who took the complaint but I didn't hear anything from them. When I called back, they told me it was denied.
5.0 overallGet what you pay for...
By Paula Rasmussen, posted: Feb 09The good: great price
nice phones
good service
unlimited calling/text
good in store customer service
The bad: need less foreign customer service, there hard to understand.
insurance not so greatSummary: Cricket is great for people on a budget. It is the best unlimited phone service out there, especially compared to some (Boost Mobile). Love there service and willingness to try to solve your problems. Easily contactable and low monthly bills. You don't have to keep track of minutes, and phone service is pretty good almost anywhere. Phones are a little pricey but you get what you pay for, so the phones are very durable. My 15 yr. old has dropped hers a thousand times and even after 2 years it is still ticking. Great service and Great phones, i would deffinately suggest this service to anyone.
4.0 overallGreat Service!! Thankful for Unlimited Calling & Text Messaging
By W Walker, posted: Feb 09The good: Great service ~ Unlimited talk time and text including unlimited long distance for $5/month and Unlimited Wireless modem for $35/month.
GREAT RATES FOR SERVICES!!!!The bad: Price of cell phonesSummary: I'm really satisfied with Cricket after using other major providers.
Cricket is definitely the best value!!
1.0 overallHow did their customer service rate get even a 2.9??
By Kathleen Johns, posted: Feb 09The good: Less expensive and you get what you pay for.The bad: A-ZSummary: Switched from another carrier for the unlimited text for my daughter's birthday. She's a good girl and deserved it. I, however, did not deserve the general pain I must endure for even a scrap of customer service. Try to get a person on the phone with any number listed. Push buttons or don't push buttons you still end up with a automated maze that ends up with an "Aaaauuuugh" and slamming the phone down. I don't WANT to pay extra to pay in cash, check or credit card. Shouldn't HAVE to PAY EXTRA TO PAY THE BILL!! That's all they are interested in: To pay your bill...to buy a phone...to add a line....to select your plan.... Just don't expect anything else. Their phone will be in the Mississippi River by this afternoon. It is worth the extra every month to get an actual person on the phone with a NATIONWIDE COMPANY. Completely uncalled for, inappropriate, and unprofessional. If I could think of anything worse, I'd put it.

1.0 overallHUGE MISTAKE!
By Laurie Jackson, posted: Jan 09The good: Easy to establish service/purchase phone onlineThe bad: Everything else.... LOUSY customer service, CONSTANT BILLING ERRORS, dropped calls, limited calling areas...Summary: Kept Cricket for 1 year despite the fact that I wasted at least 1 hour monthly on phone with customer service. I would get two text bills monthly for varying amounts yet the CSRs who answered my calls could not explain. I'd get texts informming me that my service would be interrupted if I didn't pay my bill yet they'd tell me my account was in good standing when I'd call to follow up. Not only were the CSRs rude, they barely spoke English and you could NEVER get a supervisor. I finally cancelled the service mid-December and went with another carrier.... of course, CRICKET charged my credit card almost $80 on 1/9/09 after my account was closed for nearly a month... oh yeah, and my plan was $35 monthly. Just filed a complaint with BBB in hopes of recovering my cash. They're THIEVES... look elsewhere and save yourself the headaches!
1.0 overallRUN AWAY!!! DON'T WALK!!!!
By Paul Milnes, posted: Jan 09The good: Unlimited calling. The bad: Everything else.Summary: I have never had such exasperating, nay, infuriating service (or lack thereof) in my life! I am heading back to Verizon. I don't think that I was ever able to talk to a service person that didn't possess English as a second, or maybe fifth, language. If the communication barriers weren’t bad enough, the fact that they couldn't do anything right or quote anything accurately was mind-numbing. Never before have I wanted to throw my phone out of the window, at least not until I experienced Cricket’s customer service (which, in Cricket’s case, is an oxymoron).
Oh, and then there are the obnoxious text message advertisements sent to you at all hours of the day or night courtesy of those jerks at Cricket. Jesus!!!!! Oh, and if you find yourself traveling anywhere outside of your home area, forget it! Welcome to the dark ages of cellular, folks!
Please, if you value your sanity, run away. Don't walk or amble. Run Away from Cricket!
1.0 overallAngry customer
By Nancy Bombich, posted: Dec 08The good: Met one nice customer Rep.The bad: EverythingSummary: Bought a cricket phone and plan. In the one month I it, I had dropped calls,my voice sounded like I was in a fish bowl, People on the other end heard high pitched screeches, I had constant dropped calls and when people called me, it would not ring but just go to voice mail and that is the only way I knew anyone called.
I went to 3 stores back and forth because the store reps kept sending me in circles. I just wanted a new phone or my money back but all they wanted to do was re-set my phone, which didn't work.
I ended up at the corporate office ( on 27th and National)I spoke to a manager named Matt. He finally fixed my problem in 10 minutes. He then called another store on 13th and Lincoln and talked to a girl named Karen about refunding my money. She said she would. I was happy till I got there.
I spoke to Karen, and she said to me, that a guy named Tom would take care of me. Tom was very rude and snotty and unpleasant from the get go, fighting with me in a loud tone. After 15 minutes of fighting with me, he finally gave me my refund for a charger that I never needed( whole other story)
I was going to pay my bill there but they will never see me or a dime of my money.

1.0 overallno Twitter or Facebook
By Cricket User, posted: Dec 08The good: unlimited text... no social networking, web interface is very very very poor! The bad: fix the 404 shortcut!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Summary: I am telling all my friends that Cricket does not work with social networking shortcuts. The web interface with most common websites is totally unworkable. Buyer beware! Cheap phones and cheap service! You get what you pay for!!!
1.3 overallWhere's my rebate?
By Lisa XXXXX, posted: Dec 08The good: Only purchased this plan for the unlimited texting ......The bad: Don't bother calling customer service, it will take forever and they probably can't help you, finally gave up on keeping the old phone number, they couldn't get it to transfer it over. Summary: Purchased an overpriced phone in July 08 for my teenage daughter with a promise of an $80 rebate, its now Dec 08 and Cricket needs another 6 wks to send the check. Purchased extended long distance coverage but can't make/receive calls in some urban areas close to home. When shopping for the phone/service, one Cricket retailer lied about the rates available, said the brochure was misprinted and only offered the expensive plans.
