5.0 overallCan't Beat Value
By jamespc, posted: Dec 12The service is absolutely legitimate. I came here after being on overseas after I had suspended my phone service only to come back for Verizon to tell me I owed them for 4 months worth of bills AFTER I had suspended my service. I bought out of my contract with the thieves called Verizon and 2 family members followed suite. The guy who sold me the phone was knowledgeable and answered all my questions and I pay $30 for unlimited call, text, internet 4G, data and anything else you could think of. Its a deal that is seriously too good to be true. Have not had any problems with them and I've been with them for about a year now. They are about to merge with T-Mobile so you know they are definitely legit, if you have Verizon or Spring you're probably getting ripped off. Make the switch.- 1.0 overall
Bad service!!!!
By Ashley8186, posted: Dec 12MetroPCS is a joke. Like most people said on this web site...you get what you pay for. So for $50 a month you get spotty service, rude customer service and oh depending on the weather some times your phone wont work at all. I would NEVER recommend this service to anyone. Go somewhere else that has pre paid phones like Verizon or Sprint. - 1.3 overall
The Worst Service I Had Than T-M, Simple-M, Sprint AT&T Verizon
By Hua Chang Fang, posted: Dec 12I'm very regreted to switch to this company. Usually I work in NY and NJ, I would rate the coverage as the following: MetroPCS : 2/5 T-M/Simple-M :4/5 Sprint: 4.3/5 Verizon: 5/5 I would rate the 4G/4G LTE speed and coverage: MetroPCS :1/5 (very poor coverage, 1M - 3M ) T-M/S-M: 4.5/5 Verizon:5/5 I paid about $650 to opened a new account with Samsung Galaxy S 3 and Unlimited 4G LTE plan, I test the Lte speed and coverage after I got my phone, it got 9M download speed in their store(8 Ave & 37th St Manhattan), this is lower than my simplemobile 4g, but still not bad. when I got home, the speed down to 3M (39th st, Mahattan), can accept too. Yet when I went to Brooklyn and Queens, Only few area has 4G and the download speed was as low as 1.5M. When I worked in NJ, only 70% area has signal(dont expect got 4g network), while my another simply mobile phone has good signal. I went to their sotre for return the next day I purchased. I wanted to charged me 30% restock fee and no refun monthly fee. That meaned I will lost $250 after I hold their phone. I am goint to sell my Samsung Galaxy s 3 on ebay if I can. If you want to save money and get better service, I recommend you take Simple-Mobile, I heard T-M is buying MetroPCS, maybe it is good new for MetroPCS customer.
1.7 overallI do NO recommend buying service in store.
By nikolicde, posted: Nov 12Once you go to store, they will rip you off. They made me pay $15 activation fee which they changed to promotion fee (which they never mentioned since metropcs web site says there is not activation fee) and about 20% in taxes. $129 for the phone + $30 for the first month + $15 promotion/activation fee + $25 in sales and other made up taxes. The store did not provide receipt for phone and they provided one after going back to store again. The receipt does not have itemized list and they used calculator and came up with $199. After going back and asking about details, they removed insurance and adjusted amount to $189 which is still way more than it should be. Customer support told me that once you go to store they may charge you whatever they want, but if you order online you do not pay any of these. The store is 14 John St in NYC. And yes, they added insurance which I never asked for. The insurance has $39 deductible on $79 phone (after rebate) so after several months will me more expensive use insurance then to buy a new phone. You will save a few bucks only if you need a replacement in a first several (eight) months of service. Another thing to be aware… All the taxes are included in your monthly payment BUT… the most of the common features and services are not included and you have to pay extra for that. For example you may not see plan details and call history unless you pay extra for that. I have phone for one day only so I can not comment on phone or reception. DN- 4.3 overall
Worked for me
By Ashley Holguin, posted: Nov 12I got the Admirer. There service is good for what I do for University of Phoenix. I able to do my homework and finish it all on my METRO PCS PHONE. It is a little slow on looking up some sites. It works for me just great. and cost $50.00 per month with the insurance. - 3.7 overall
cheap cell service
By Jeff George, posted: Nov 12You get what you pay for and metropcs has always been a bargain for me. 50 bucks a month unlimited everything and I always have service and the LG MOTION 4G is a great phone for 150 bucks. What more could you ask for? Customer service. It pretty much is terrible unless your issue is small.
2.3 overallWas happy until today...
By Consumer who talks alot, posted: Oct 12I have always understood that metro pcs was a cheap alternative for a smart phone. You pay for what you get which actually turns out to be a good deal for us consumers. HOWEVER, I became irrate with Metro PCS today. I will not go through my full rant as all the details would fill the screen. However, the customer service chat online is a joke. I am so very disappointed with them that I am considering changing companies. I plan to call customer service tomorrow to see if they can in any way resolve the situation. But, I WILL WARN ALL- if you upgrade plans at any point you will be charged hidden fees that nobody can seem to explain with that none of their representatives can intelligently explain. Due to their mistakes I have wasted a WHOLE lot of time, frustration and money. I am not sure I recommend them anymore.. Shame on you Metro PCS.
1.7 overallYou get what you pay for.
By Anonymous2012, posted: Oct 12Service is unreliable and glitchy, and shuts down/craps the bed when you need it most. I pay for internet/youtube, yet when I need to use them, neither of the services work unless connected to wi-fi, which is also glitchy, by the way. Phone storage is filled up way too quickly, and the android system all in all is too glitchy. If you want good prices and can cope with bad service, then Metro is for you. If you need a reliable phone, I suggest buying from another carrier. Customer service call quality was bad, and it took forever for me to finally reach someone who I could barely understand.- 4.0 overall
What to be expected from METRO
By Carl Max Augustin, posted: Oct 12I've been a metro PCS customer for a while now, and I've only see people complain about the service and never mention the good parts( never had costumer service problem because I go to the main office in my area and not some authorize reseller ). Yes the internet connection they offer on the $40 dollar plan suck, and yes it does not have the best coverage out there , but it certainly give you the best price for the service it offers. Unlimited talk and text , and some internet depending on your plan , and all that with no yearly contract. If someone were to compare that service to any of the major carrier from whom you have to get a contract and pay extra for Unlimited talk ,text , and data, they would notice that metro offers the best price.
