Negative Star Rating...Cheated

Posted on: March 19th, 2015 by Jasper

Went to NTelos on a Friday evening spent an hour with the sales rep telling me all sorts of good about NTelos ending with, "Unless you live in Alaska, I doubt you will be without service." So we entered a 14 day trial period that would end with porting our numbers from another company. We left the store with our new phones, got home about 20 miles away, and guess what ABSOLUTELY NO SERVICE! We couldn't call or text. Called the sales rep...he asked us to keep the phone for a few days while they tried to remedy through service. This ended when he called and said we would just have to return the phones. Why then should I be charged for restock of phones and a service fee. And, no one with NTelos will even listen to my point of view. I didn't, don't, and have not service with NTelos and that their fault. I hope this is not the only way they making money or the company won't last long. If you experience is good, I don't see how...to me NTelos is a negative! Oh, by the way the site is making me give a star rating....would be negative if they had the option!

How I Sold My Soul To NTelos

Posted on: January 14th, 2015 by sportreport

I want to do a quick breakdown of Ntelos' new $25 unlimited talk and text plus 2GB of data plan, but I hope this can give you an idea of what to expect from the company as a whole. But let's get back to the plan. Sounds too good to be true. It is. Let's start. This plan requires you to buy a brand new phone FROM NTELOS and sign a contract. Already starting to sound a bit scary. Let's say you've been a loyal iPhone fan for the past few years and you want to upgrade to the new iPhone. You go to your local NTelos store, try out the phone, and decide you'll try it out. What???? The phone is free??? Zero down??? You must be getting a pretty awesome deal!!!! Not so fast. The latest iPhone retails for a little over $600 and NTelos wants to make sure you pay all of it. $27 a month device fee slapped on to your bill, spread out over your 2 year contract. Now let's add the $25 plan. $52.00? You can live with that. You proceed to sign up and head on your way, enjoying this fancy new gadget you hold in your hand. All goes well for your first month, and then your first bill arrives... $87.00 Where did that come from? What is that extra $35? You call NTelos and they tell you it is a device usage fee of $35 a month for using a smartphone. You can't afford $87 a month, and surely it isn't worth it for a meager 2GB of data. You try to back out, you try to quit. But wait, a contract.... That foul beast straight from hell, pulling you down with its biting reigns. $600 remaining due on the phone, and a whole slew of other early termination fees. It doesn't seem worth it to quit now You weather the storm for a year, grudgingly paying off those steep bills, suffering through terrible signal on a sub-par network, you're shiny iPhone now a worthless piece of crap with a bunch of dings and a cracked screen. One year passes, and all you want is out. You ask, you beg, you plead.... But oh, you've only paid off half of your phone. $300 plus due to quit now. But wait! You get a new phone every year! There's a new iPhone out now! It has a bigger screen! Oh how much you want this new phone! Do you pay $300 and get out now, or take a free upgrade and pay it off later? Oh you poor fool. You pick the latter, you sign another contract, and you sell your soul to NTelos for another year or two.

i went into a 2 year contract because ntelos gave me a free iphone 5s . thats the plus side .. the down side is getting service . the service is fine near and around me , but traveling to another state only gives you roaming . they promised me when i signed the contract that 4g would be in my area (charleston, wv) very soon . months later i am still waiting . overall it is good and the price is right and coustomer service is always great . unlimited talk , text , and 10 gb data for $60 is way better than paying at&t or verizon prices

I had been on Frawg Wireless before switching to Ntelos during their $30 promotion and got a discounted HTC one. I don't have talk and text issues but sometimes when I am in the country I do not have internet. The fees/taxes aren't bad. I end up paying $37 with the regulatory stuff added in, but I am happy paying that versus what verizon charges.

Worst company ever.

Posted on: June 10th, 2014 by Justin Sheppard

Phones don't pickup anywhere and when the do, the data is snail pace slow. When I signed up Ntelos was offering to buy out your contract but after providing my final bill from my old carrier, a credit was never put on my account. Goodbye $300. When switching off Ntelos because of their poor service and terrible phones, I was still charges an early termination for canceling 6 hours before midnight, and since the numbers were already ported to Verizon (great service), they say there's nothing they can do. Goodbye $700. Worst. Phone. Company. Ever. It's worth a few extra bucks a month not to deal with this company.

My phone died.. I took it to bridgeport wv store and was told they would send it off for repairs .. Brandon ( store clerk ) took it out of the case and took it to the back room .. brought it back out and placed phone in front of me .. pointed to phone and said broken screen .. that will cost you 125.00 ..screen was not broken when he tookbit to the back room . Since tben getting anyone to handle this problem or return calls has been impossible .

Absolute Garbage!

Posted on: January 22nd, 2014 by Amy Ritchey

NTelos doesn't cover 2 of the 4 hour drive I have to take 2x a month, they charge 350 to get out of contract, which doesn't diminish as times goes on. AND on top of everything else.... I assume their client pool is shrinking by the minute and they won't take paper work regarding your account by fax, so I had to drive 2 hours one way to deliver a piece of paper as all of their other stores have closed, and my paper was lost 3 days later. The workers are unprofessional, rude, and carry on fowl conversations with eachother while you are in earshot. NEVER, I repeat NEVER again will I ever consider NTelos!!!!

ntelos is garbage

Posted on: January 13th, 2014 by Tony Oxton

I really wish i wouldnt have signed up. They are cheap but the fees and quality are worse than i have ever experienced. I would recommend a walmart prepaid phone before ntelos or even maybe beeper.

Coverage

People...It's your own faults for not doing research on tower locations before signing a contract. If you travel allot, do not get Ntelos. Do some research on your local area, and where you will be using your phone the most to determine which provider is best based on where you live.
