1.0 overallCustomer sevice has no clue as to how to help
By sueard@comcast.net, posted: May 11I forgot to go into my account when my credit card expired and was notified only after they had cancelled my account. I was on a family value plan and I went and updated my cc information and tried to get the phones reactivated but was only able to activate one of them. I called customer service and had to go over and over that I need to reactivate the other 2 phones and it was supposedly taken care of but I wasn't that lucky. I got another email the next day saying that my phones were deactivated so I called again and was told that because the 2 phones were not due to expire for another month I couldn't add them to the family value plan because their computer system wouldn't let them. I even asked to talk to a supervisor and that went know where too. I spent almost 2 hours on the phone with them for nothing. So beware of their customer service they are completely clueless and be sure and keep your credit card information up to date with them.

By acuffc84, posted: May 9Today I had to call the 1-800 number to get my new phone activated with the minutes witched over and the number from the old phone to the new one.Was a total waist of time. Was placed on hold over and over again after giving them the proper onfo need to do so. Gave me a ticket # and stated that I would not be able to use my phone for 24hrs because of whatever reason it was. Was bull if you ask me, because in the past had to do the samething no problems then. This is coman with this comany all the time. To people out there thinking of going with this comany think again. BEWARE THIS COMANY SUCKS!!!!!

By JRG1, posted: May 5i bought air time and minutes from customer service, they said i needed a new sim card, after i recieved the new sim the phone still wouldn't work. They said the new sim card, #2, was expired and would send a new one, #3. Weeks laterand about 5 calls to customer service, well over two hours on the phone, still no service and no new sim card. I tried to get a refund from them and they refused, i finally disputed the charge on my credit card. They are morons and thieves, beware- 2.7 overall
Not as bad as some say
By Tim Kiess, posted: Apr 28I haven't experienced the problems I am reading other than poor customer service. What I don't like is my smart phone is dumbed down by tracfones service. I can't upload my photos and when I email them the phone shuts off . Not to mention apps are hard to come by.

0.3 overallPhone was Deactivated for no Reason
By woodchuck, posted: Apr 4I have been a loyal Tracfone customer for more than three years. I was fairly content with my phone and service, even though the phone was a relic and the service was mediocre - the price was right given my needs. I was never negligent with my payments. Out of the blue, my phone was deactivated, even though I had ample airtime and minutes on the phone. I spoke with numerous customer service representatives and each gave a different answer for why the phone was deactivated; they claimed I had been negligent with payments, then said that there was something wrong with the phone. They claimed that the only way to fix the problem was to buy a new phone and plan (seemed like a scam to make more $ or drop low-revenue customers). They sent me no email notifications that this would happen, and offered no refund for the airtime and minutes that I had already paid for. To add insult to injury, this happened days after my mother died when I had to make arrangements for her funeral. Despite the fact that I was initially impressed with the service quality and overall value, I can't fathom giving Tracfone a rating better than 0 across the board. Their customer care is non-existent - absolutely terrible to say the least.- 2.3 overall
GPLG430GB Easy to Use - LOUSY OPTIONS
By Christopher Plumley, posted: Apr 4I like this phone, small, simple and cheap to use. However, once you take pics or video the only option for downloading is Bluetooth and that is limited too. Talked to Carlos and Irene in New Delhi and they both did not understand or speak American English .. Long Live the King ... Guess I'll bit the bullet and find another phone ... After all this one is 5 months old and way out of date. - 1.0 overall
a rip-off
By Kathleen Reynolds, posted: Mar 22First I couldn't get it activated. They promised I could keep my old number, but didn't. I was using the old number and it wouldn't work. Many long waits for customer service. Of course they want you to call in on your tracfone, so this time I'm told the wait is 20 minutes. (still waiting).. Somehow the minutes disappear, they must charge you when you're punching in the number. Then I was getting collection agency calls for the deadbeat who apparently had my number. I got charged for all their calls and when I picked up the voicemail. Now, 3 months later, the phone doesn't hold a charge. W/o using it, the charge lasts less than a day. I have talked maybe 2 hours total but have been billed for over 6 hours. I'm waiting to see how long it will take to get the problem of not holding a charge. I also asked them for a printout of my calls; they had an impossible list of requirements. This is the most frustrating (ripoff) company I've ever dealt with. - 1.0 overall
what a nightmare!!
By Bonnie Graesser, posted: Mar 3i bought a new lg800 from tracfone for an upgrade. i purchased it on 2/7/13. the phone did not work in the house so tracfone sent me a replacement. it was reconditioned not a new one which is what i paid for. the second one did not work in the house the customer service rep told me to stand new a window???? i was so disgusted that i asked them to transfer my days and minutes back to my old phone which i purcjased years ago. they said i needed a new sim card so i had to wait til they mailed it to me. when i got the card i called to activate. i spent 72 minutes on the phone. now they say i have to wait for a replacement phone for my old phone. customer service is NOT helpful all they want to do is sent you another phone. i can't tell you how much time i wasted on the phone ( average tim is 50 min) don't buy a tracfone because they don't care to help you!! - 1.0 overall
Nothing but a nightmare to deal with.
By Susan Johnson, posted: Feb 19Bought a tracfone in July/12. It does not work in my immediate area in South Florida (Boynton Beach). If I go up the road 1 mile I have service. I was told for months there was a tower down. In Jan/13, I went after them again, being escalated to the managers department, (which is another joke) demanding a phone that would work In Boynton. After 3 pieces of garbage sent to me, and returned, they now had the ordasity to zap my sim card, so my phone doesn't work anywhere. So now after 6 weeks of 4 or 5, 1.25 hour phone calls they are suppose to be sending me the correct model to operate in this area, along with a new sim card for the old phone, because I don't actually believe a new phone is coming. Think very hard before buying one of these pieces of junk.
