The worst provider ever!! VERY disappointed!

Posted on: February 6th, 2007 by Allison Hamman

The good: one year service. no contractThe bad: customer service is ridiculous! After my phone stopped working a week after I received it. I talked on the phone to countless representatives and supervisors trying to receive a straight answer about why my phone was not working. I got multiple answers everytime I called. Eventually I thought the problem was fixed and they sent me a cheaper phone (I had an expensive flip phone and they sent me a 20 dollar phone)many times I was placed on hold while they 'contacted their supervisor' Summary: This provider is all and well if you plan to have no problems with your cell phone. If you ever for any reason need to call customer service it will not help and will lead you into a path of headache and frustration!

Faultless

The good: no bills, no hassle, always ready to help if needed, can be used in canada, you decide how much you want to spend. The bad: none. Summary: I have been using Tracfone for about three years now, and have had NO trouble. My wife's Nokia died, I called them, and they immediately transferred her minutes to her new phone with no loss of time. she even got a bonus for staying with Tracfone. When my friends complain about their phone costs, service, etc., I just smile and tell them about Tracfone. You will like them. Give them a try.

Don't Bother

Posted on: October 31st, 2006 by Anonymous

The good: Pay as you go, no contract, no stringsnew bonus minutesThe bad: high rate per minute, lousy customer serviceSummary: I ordered my second phone because of the good deal they were offering, two Nokia 1100 phones with two 60 minute airtime cards each, free incoming text and no roaming. This should haven been a routine procedure, however, it turned into a weeklong nightmare that had me calling everyday speaking to a new superviser everytime with no straight answers. Customer service is a nightmare and they act as if they are the only pay as you go game in town still which is not true. I received two phones that did not work, sent them back- new phone were to arrive overnight- but didn't took another 3 days, then new phones arrived without airtime cards, which I then had to fight for, then told to wait another 24 hours before using the phones for a text message that never came only to be told I did not have to wait for the message, then when I called customer service to say that a 3rd set had arrived, the supervisor was rude to me and then a customer service person actually hung up on me.

Tracfone is for me

Posted on: October 29th, 2006 by Mary T

The good: No contract, no HIGH monthly service bill, etc.The bad: n/aSummary: I've been using this service for about three years now. I like it. I don't use a cell phone constantly but it sure comes in handy when I need one. I have an auto-debit from my checking account for $7 a month to keep the number and it is a LOT cheaper for me than having a regular cell contract. Easy to plug in minutes using the computer. This phone and phone service works for me. Tracfone isn't for everyone--if you really use cell phones a lot, get a nationwide service with the contract. If you need one for the occasional use, you might consider this service.

The good: No contract, cheap for me. I dont use my cell phone too much, until now I had great coverageThe bad: My covarage has not been as good, been getting delayed text messagesSummary: It may be the cheaper phone I had to buy.Service use to be great, but son got old phone wet. went with cheaper phone...bad idea. They are alwyas so helpful when I call, but the service reps can be hard to understand. You can also find promo codes on the internet.

Pay as you go

Posted on: October 17th, 2006 by Dolores Caplinger

The good: There was the ease of pay as you go.The bad: Having to buy a year contract to not have minutes expireSummary: The thought of no monthly fees was inticing. However, the minutes would expire unless you signed a one year agreement. Had trouble trying to "reload" the phone with minutes. Received errors several times and had to have my daughter reload by computer.

My experience with Tracfone

Posted on: October 5th, 2006 by Madie Young

The good: I don't have a monthly bill, the minutes carry over and it's a price I can affordThe bad: different phones have different features - ie, my phone has roaming where as my daughters phone does not, but they both cost the sameSummary: I really like the Tracfone because we don't use out cell phones often (my daughter and I each have one) and we can keep it going for as low as $20 every other month
