Great company to deal with.
By Matt Tawesson, posted: Jun 12I have been a Tracfone customer since the summer of 2009, and I have been very pleased with the different phones I have had through them. My calls to customer service have been excellent. I have read some peoples' reviews to others that Tracfone isn't great, to not get another phone from them, etc. but I've had no problems with customer service whatsoever. Every time I added a minutes card to my phone, they always showed up on whichever phone I added the airtime to and the extra service days as well. I have two lines (so does my mom), and we're happy. Here are the best things about having Tracfone: 1) No contract to sign and be locked in to 2) No credit check 3) No fees for activating, re-activating, or cancellation of service 4) No monthly bills 5) You can have as many minutes as you like to your phone or phones, regardless of how often you talk on the phone 6) Most Tracfones have Double Minutes for Life on them, meaning whenever you add a minutes card to the phone, the card's face value doubles (if you add a 200 minutes card, you get 400 minutes) 7) If you have a promo code (which is a five digit number) and add that after your regular minutes card, you will get a certain number of bonus minutes (on DMFL phones, these bonus minutes don't double, but the're quite handy to have). Again, I'm satisfied with Tracfone, and I will gladly stay on with them, and I will highly recommend this to someone who is wanting the lowest priced cell service. - 1.7 overall
LOST MINUTES
By Cj Dalby, posted: Mar 12My daughter has had a tracfone for the last four years. Worked fine no problems till the last year. Takes forever for customer service and that is if you get one who can speak English. Her phone started shutting off and every time it shut itself off it lost minutes. Hundreds of minutes at at time. We were told to replace the phone. We did so and still the same problem. They wont fix it or give back minutes. Has Cost us thousand of minutes in the last year. Not impressed any more with them. But Have not heard great things about others either. My daughter is barely 16 and we need her to be able to reach us but want to monitor her phone as well and not have it cost us a fortune. Come on there has to be a reasonable solution!!! - 2.7 overall
Good Service as long as you have no problems
By RodTheRock, posted: Mar 12Upgraded phone, added minutes on-line never showed up on phone, 5 calls to service, nice but unable to fix, no way to escalate, ran out of minutes, if you use your phone for business go different carrier or you couyld be left hanging with no help. - 1.0 overall
What happened to my minutes??
By ikywaikiki, posted: Mar 12I just purchased a Tracphone, then bought a 200 minute card, came with a Bonus book of minutes that you punch in the code # and get additional minutes. 1st of all, phone codes do NOT work, so no extra minutes. Next thing I know, after only 4 or 5 phone calls to one girlfriend's phone lasting a total of under 10 minutes, all of a sudden I have 0 minutes. That's ZERO minutes? WTH?! - 2.0 overall
Decent service, cheap, worst customer service
By Gabichita, posted: Feb 12Want to know why is so cheap: Tracphone does not train their customer service employees. Those people are so lost that they can actually give help, they were nice, but I could not get the assistance and the answers I need it. So, the phone service is very decent and is cheap. I got the phone for people who visited me so they used the phone a couple of days, so it was very convenient for me. I recommend to avoid calling customer service like the plague!!!! - 4.3 overall
The tracfone for seniors
By dararosenberg27, posted: Jan 12 My parents and I decided to get SVC phones for both my grandparents and it was one of the best decisions we've ever made. For only 7 dollars a month, my grandparents have great phones that have large keypads so they can see the numbers properly and that are hearing-aid compatible so that they can hear their phone calls properly as well.
1.0 overallIf this isn't the worst thing ever, I don't know what is
By TheRealNubs, posted: Jan 12First off, thanks phonedog for erasing my entire review during the sign in process. Now on to the Tracfone. NOTHING but trouble from this company - poor reception (you have to enter your pin 3 or 4 times before the crackly phone lines let it through). Reception isn't the worst, however. The worst is how they change your phone number every time your phone goes 'inactive'. This can happen by your fault or theirs, but once the number's gone, it's gone. Now you have the drug dealer's old phone number, or maybe the lady that has a million unpaid bills who gets bill collectors calling and leaving messages daily. Just sign up for a plan to keep that 'inactive' thing from happening? Tried it! Didn't work! Their computer didn't register it properly (although the cash disappeared out of my bank account) so it became 'inactive' again and the number changed, again. Fine, last try, paid up to next month, but wait! Phone is INACTIVE on the 26th, 5 days before the renew date. Number is changed too. I have over 700 minutes on this phone, but that's no matter, I'm through with this hassle. Cheap is good, but crap is crap.- 1.5 overall
The worst customer service I have ever experienced. It seems like they want to put you off more than they want to help you.
By jkloq5, posted: Jan 12This is our third year with Trac Phone and I recommend people stay away unless they want total frustration with customr service. Your calls go to the Phillipines where they can hardly speak English are more interested in putting you off than helping you. They will charge minutes to your credit card and you will not get your minutes and then you must deal with this terrible customer service. I cannot say enough to those out there to stay away even if it is cheap it is a nightmare if you need any assistance.
3.3 overallNever dropped a call
By John James Hill, posted: Oct 10The good: Coverage is great all over. Cheaper than contract. No contract, and therefore no ^$(* ETF. Easy access to recharge. The bad: Service center's to be avoided. Slow to adopt old phone number.Summary: I've been with tracfone since I paid an ETF to just get rid of the contract I was in bout 5 years ago. At the time there wasn't a lot of prepaid competition about like there is now. And still tracfone offers me by far the only option I want for my kids. Which is a small amount of minutes at a time. When they invariably run out of minutes, they invariably have to do more work around the house and earn their minutes.
Apart from that, I fly round the country quite a bit, selling farming equipment to some very rural areas, and I've never had a problem with dropping calls, or have any amount of buzzing in the background.
I have however had one irking waiting problem when I tried to carry an old number to a new phone. That particular number was quite important to me, but if it's not an important number I'll happily settle for a new number, just to avoid tracfone's service aptitude. Having said that, it needs mentioning that the staff, although entirely unhelpful, were always friendly.

Double Minutes For Life
$20 for 3 months of serviceThe bad: Bad image
Not a modern phoneSummary: It's a great value for someone like me. I don;'t need to talk alot or text but need to be reached wherever I go, so I got a Tracfone for $10 with the doubled minutes for life and it's a really great value.
My friends laugh at me because it's not an iphone or whatever but when I tell them what I pay they shut up! Ha!
