Tracfone...Thieves and LiarsBy Bruce Wayne, posted: Apr 9I too have had Tracfones for many years, have provided phones and service for family and friends. But....my latest experience has made me think about leaving them all in the trash! I Added 180 minutes to my newest phone..ZTE Valet (not bad--Android) April 5th, receiving the text verification from them of my balances--over 1100 in Phone, Text and Data. No problem. On April 7th, when I tried to use the phone...All Banks were ZERO! Spent the next 3 days on the phone...person after person...having to explain everything again and again, even though They provided me a reference number And ticket number (don't they keep records?!)...and each person making assurances that my balances would be restored. Nothing. The last call...they wanted to 'give' me 120 minutes! I refused...wanted All the minutes that they Stole from me, which they denied doing, or course! So....Thieves and Liars, Tracfone. Over 1100 previously paid-for minutes....gone! And they don't care! I am done with these morons! ^^X^^

Omitting important detailsBy Clark Andrews, posted: Apr 4I've been a Tracfone customer for several years. Overall, I think it is good value for the minescule money. 120min/90 days is typical of my purchases. But once, I was duped by their customer service into buying a one-year plan that was on sale or something. I guess I was in a hurry & too distracted to ask the right questions at the right time. My memory has taken a hit in recent years. So has my hearing. After the sale was final, I asked How many minutes comes with that, again?, thinking the odds were that he had mentioned it & I simply forgot the numeric answer. His answer was that it comes with no minutes at all, just airtime!! The one thing I didn't need! My only motivation for giving in to his aggressive sales tactics was that I had been given the impression that by buying this much service all at once, I'd be getting more minutes for the dollar. But, as always, a refund was denied. It was $50 down the toilet!!!

Wont activate my phoneBy Jim Bellini, posted: Mar 12customer service terrible!!!!! could not activate phone was told I had two phones and activated wrong one! I ONLY HAVE ONE PHONE!! TERRIBLE ENGLISH AND DID NOT UNDERSTAND I ONLY HAVE ONE PHONE TO ACTIVATE! REFUSED TO HELP. I WILL THROW THE 1 (ONE) PHONE IN THE TRASH AND GO WITH ANOTHER PROVIDER! BE WARE VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!

who else is out thereBy Victoria Queen, posted: Feb 20I've been using Tracfone for a long time, and I haven't had any trouble with their service. As others' have said, their customer service leaves a lot to be desired. So I'm almost out of minutes on my current phone and thinking this would be a good time to change carriers. One problem, nobody else does what they do. Net10 and Tracfone are the same company, so that doesn't solve anything. Does anyone else offer a pay-as-you-go phone that is as affordable. None of the big companies seem to. I'm trying to avoid any more monthly bills--contract or not. I just want to pay for what I actually use.

4 people and 2 daysBy Helen Daudelin, posted: Dec 13i don,t think this will get me anywhere but i tryed adding more time on my phone 3 times i had to call then they said i was all set the next day my hubby went out in a snowstorm he works for the town he is 60 years old he got stuck tryed using the phone it did not work (but they took me money realy fast) 107 dollars he had to walk to the nearest house and up here there about 1/2 mile to a mile apart in a storm to get help so i called again today and they said they changed my phone no# and no one told me even if they did why did the phone not work so now they tell me i have to wait 4 more hours then call them back in the mean time i have no way of knowing if he is ok thanks to tracfone p.s it is 17 degrees out side errrr not happy at all

Has been good for me!By Sherry Golding, posted: Dec 13I've had several phones,only because I wanted to upgrade phones, during the years I've had service with Tracfone & overall had good service & phones. For my needs, Tracfone prepaid cell service has the the best value for me with fair customer service. I say fair customer service because sometimes I've been on hold longer than I wanted & most times I get someone that's difficult to understand(although that happens with many companies customer service & support lines). I did have trouble when I upgraded phones twice and had to wait, only 2 days, to get new sim cards in mail but then the switchover went fine & all worked good. Have had no problems with any of the phones having service/signal pretty much everywhere except sometimes on casino floors. Half the time on any casino floor I cant call out & calls received go directly to voicemail. I couldn't get a cell phone & service at a lower price anywhere. I don't use it as my main phone, don't need or use internet on it, & don't need apps & such so considering everything, this has been the best option for me. I would recommend Tracfone unless you require the internet, lots of apps, &/or lots of minutes(say 500 or more or like so many that unlimited is best) in which case I'd recommend theunlimited talk, text, & web for $40 a month or less.

Bad or no servoceBy Rene Milligan, posted: Dec 13Have had my phone for about a month ...it worked fine the first three weeks, but now can not access y e-mail or several apps that I had downloaded. Cannot find a number to call to get help. Am going to try and return it to HSN because that's where I believed the hype and bought the darn thing. Very disappointed!!! Save your money and don't go near this phone!!!

How they stay in business is beyond with thier customer serviceBy David Dickson, posted: Nov 13Had a smart phone that lost its sound one month after I got it and tracfone could not and would not fix it.there service dept. stinks and it, is run by people who you can't understand. All misinformed idiots. I'm surprised they are not sued and it's hard to believe they stay in business.stay away if you know better-spend your money somewhere else.good luck-you will need it if you go with this so called company

Lousy customer serviceBy William Minor, posted: Nov 13Sometimes price isn't everything. After 13 days couldn't port my number, spent many hours on the phone many times with heavily accented people. Always told to wait couple hours for the phone to work never does. Start over the whole process again. I'm returning the phone to Walmart and probably have to eat the $45.00 data card. Worst experience ever. Do not buy this inferior product
