Company Overview: Verizon Wireless operates the largest wireless telecommunications network in the U.S., based on total customers of 94+ million (Jan 2011). The company is a joint venture of Verizon Communications and Vodafone Group, and is headquartered in Basking Ridge, NJ. Verizon has announced its intent to buy Vodafone out of its 45% share in the company. Verizon Wireless also completed its purchase of Alltel Wireless on January 9, 2009.
