2.7 overallHate to switch but the cost is killing us
By Stacey Gavin, posted: Jan 09The good: Excellent reception, the best we've ever had! We've had AT&T, Cingular, Sprint. None compareThe bad: Nighttime minutes start at 9pm, Have to watch billing like a hawk!Summary: At first we had to pick our phone bill apart piece by piece. One month they charged us $250 more than they should have! Their reply, "Whoops!" Gotta keep on top of them. We switched from 700 min shared to 1400 shared, good call! We're switching when contract is up though. Can't call my Mom, Grandpa, etc. after 9pm, and those daytime minutes go quickly.
2.3 overallWorst Customer Service EVER
By Joe Nanney, posted: Oct 08The good: Good coverage -- technically, they are excellent, which makes it hard to give them upThe bad: Unable to answer questions, mysterious billing items are not explainedSummary: Twice I have gotten mysterious charges. The only explanation is that "someone downloaded them to your phone" when I KNOW that it didn't happen. Last year, I had a problem with premium texts. They were unable to filter them, and then charged me 50 cents for incoming messages I never wanted. THEN, when they acknowledged that the problem wasn't mine, they STILL wanted me to pay 1/2 of the bill. Absurd.
4.7 overallWay better than t-mobile
By muhammad yousuf, posted: Sep 08The good: Good phones, good plans, voice quality, vcast, vz navigator. The bad: Voice can be a little scratchy at times, no preloaded games, some pricy add-onsSummary: Overall its way better than t mobile. i have the samsung glyde and everyone else in my family has the blackberry curve. its all really good but the sound quality can be a little glitchy.
5.0 overallExcellent choice
By Luis Diaz, posted: Sep 08The good: No dropped calls anywhere in town. Phone service even works great between Colorado Springs, down to Pueblo and out to Rocky Ford. The bad: Shared plan has option of 700 minutes then jumps to 1400 minutes. One in between would be nice.Summary: Switched to Verizon after carrying another cell phone for 4 years. Phones are nicers, call service is better and their customer service reps are more knowledgeable.
5.0 overallIt's the best carrier by far!
By p holmes, posted: Sep 08The good: English speaking costumer service reps. coverage area rocks amazing phones and good plans! The bad: Tad expensive but well worth the money.Summary: YOU ROCK! i went with sprint only because rates were cheaper and deposit was cheaper and boy did i get what I payed for. So I jumped ship and joined Verizon. This is the best decision i have made!
You have the best most up to date saught after phones. incredible coverage area. reliable costumer service.(that speaks enlish and from the us) more locations.
Yeah they may be a little more expensive but I tried cheaper service it wasnt better and payed more in the end do yourself a favor and go with the best verizon is #1
1.0 overallSwitch to AT&T
By Timothy Chang, posted: Aug 08The good: Many retail stores in areaThe bad: Horrible signal, horrible interface and phonesSummary: I have been using Verizon Wireless for 6 years. This year was the worst of them. My phone, the LG enV2 was unusable after they did a software update. They said everthing was fine, but it would not turn on after. I was even in the store, and the people let me borrow a charger, but still nothing. A support associate looked and said the main board was fried. This was just two weeks after renewing the contract. They would not replaced the phone for me, even though I didn't leave the store. They said to buy a new $300 phone, pay $150 for a small chance of fixing it, or pay the termination fee. Verizon doesn't support old phones anymore, so I had to waste hundreds of dollars to continue service. I am now at AT&T, but here is my previous expierience.
I live in Greensboro, NC, where there is supposed to be service. 2 out of 5 phone calls are dropped each day. There is extended network in the Verizon Store and my house. The only reason I have stayed with them is because of good service along I-40, where I travel a lot. Now at At&t, I have traveled thousands of miles without one dropped call.
5.0 overallGreat Service!
By nelson merten, posted: Aug 08The good: Great Service (customer service; store walk-in & telephone have always been great), Great Selection of phones, Coverage is excellent. The bad: They do cripple their phones where you cannot modify or hack your phone and Verizon is the most expensive of all the carriers but you get what you pay for......Summary: I have been with Verizon for over 5 years now and never had any problems with their products or services. They have even replaced my phones with no hassles or questions asked. I would recommend this carrier to anyone. Verizon does cost more but its well worth it.
4.7 overallBest service EVER
By Anastasia Andalupa, posted: Jul 08The good: Great coverage, friendly customer service, issues quickly resolved. The bad: It's a little pricey but its worth it.Summary: It's a great service. I've never had a dropped call and customer service is great. All my friends are on it and so it makes the IN unlimited texting worth it. I recommend it to anyone.
2.3 overallCAN YOU HEAR ME NOW? DID I GET DROPPED?
By Kevin Wright, posted: Jul 08The good: When using service in their coverage area and no towers are down, service is greatThe bad: Absolutely limited coverage area!! Cheap pay as you go phones have more service area!!!Summary: Over priced, overrated, too many dead zones to list, don't get what they advertised as far as coverage area!
5.0 overallGREAT Service
By Eric Buck, posted: Jun 08The good: GREAT coverage. Super fast DATA compaired to ATT. Great customer service. Cool new handsetsThe bad: Not the cheapest but I guess you have to pay for what you get.Summary: I've tried the others. When Verizon says something you know it is the truth.
