counting the minutes until I can changeBy Andi Cimbura, posted: Jun 13I have complained to Verizon many times about the lack of service at my home, I am 4 miles from downtown Denver. If I can get 2 bars, I'm lucky. usually just one. I will be switching back to T-mobile as soon as I can. Verizon isn't worth half of what I am paying.

Insurance a waste of money!!!!By Tim McNeely, posted: Jun 13My phone that I have taken good care of for over 2 years now went belly up. Getting a bootloader D0.11 error. I take it into Verizon and they tell me that I dont have the extended warrenty that nothing they can do for me. I asked about the insurance and was told that this covers the phone being stolen, dropped and broke, etc etc, not a manufacture issue. Told that would be a $99.00 charge to fix it. Only other option is to get a new phone and pay a activation fee along with another 2 year contract. My response was then I should have thrown it down on the ground before walking into the store and would have been covered. To this they had no real response outside of the we can send it in but being a weekend would be Tue or Wed before have it back and would still be the $99.00 charge. Have been with them for over 10 years now and never once had a problem with them (outside of my phone does not get a good reception in my house) when I do have a issue this is the treatment I get.

To busy to give good cusomer service?By Susan Lopez, posted: Jun 13So my daughters Iphone was manufactured covered for buttons that weren't working correctly. Verizon sends out a new phone and we were to send the broken one back. She drops the phone while packing it up, broke the screen, but sent it off to Verizon anyway. Verizon emails me to tell me the phone is not in stated condition and therefore will charge me $299.00 and will not return my phone. WHAT?? Why would I not be given the option to have my phone returned and fix myself or pay $299.00. The Supervisor informs me that they had to stop their production line of returned phones to take several pictures to document the condition and send an email, but could not take the time to give me that option because they have so many other returns that they can't take the time to do that. Again..WHAT? So even though I have insurance and could have turned the phone in and paid $160.00 to replace the phone, Verizon feels its their decision to make and charge me twice as much because they can't take the time to pull the phone aside and give me the option, because their just to busy!! I suggested that they charge me what the insurance deductible would be, but NOPE!! Thanks for that great customer service, can't wait to renew my contract...NOT!!

Verizon sucks Waste of everything, Worst customer serviceBy Trevor Hall, posted: May 13Droid X the most POS Phone on the market, bought it when it first came out spent $300 bucks on it. Had problems since then, ended up getting a replacement recently and it sucked just as bad, i should have just burnt the $50 i spent. I call Verizon to turn off my service at this point i was too annoyed and frustrated with the phone to even keep the service. The first representative i talked to said that instead of turning off my service she could send me a new phone ( with a new 24 month contract) and keep my service connected. That was a good option for me and i was going to accept the offer, While on hold waiting for the Representative to get back my phone decided it would restart. I spent the next two days trying to get my phone to hold enough charge to where it would turn on. Finally call Verizon back and the new representative tells me that i need to pay a $50 fee to even get a replacement phone and then the phone i can get is one i don't even want. On top of that i called Verizon this morning and they are so stingy that the representative told me they would have to charge me for it (TODAY) because i didn't cancel my account, when i explained to the lady i had called a few days earlier and my phone ( the reason i am calling in the first place) shut off and wouldn't turn back on for 2 days, she said oh well we have to charge you for today.. So let me get this right Verizon would rather me cancel my service and stop paying you guys monthly when i have been a customer for over 7 years. Well shows just how incompetent and unqualified Verizon customer service is and just how much they care about veterans that only get monthly disability. You try to portray yourself as a family oriented company but you fail to uphold basic customer service standards... i see the real Verizon and i will post this exact statement on every review board, Facebook, twitter and anything else i can get the public to read in order to further my opinion of Verizon and share my experience with potential customers (suckers). sincerely pissed off 7 year customer who cut his service today over Verizon making a non-sensical $50 one time fee. Edit - And they deleted my first review i guess it was just to blunt and honest for them

Nothing but a SCAMBy sharon adeh, posted: May 13I have been giving Verizon business for 12 YEARS, and when I called to make a change to my plan by adding another line (basically give them MORE business), they literally told me my bill would be doubled!!! I am paying for services I don't even use, so when I asked to at least get a different plan that charged more more fairly for what I DO use, they couldn't offer me anything!! I have been of the phone for OVER AN HOUR to get NOTHING! I asked to cancel my plan and move my business elsewhere, and they said they would charge me $200 simply for not being able to make me happy! STAY AWAY FROM VERIZON! TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE, DON'T BE AN IDIOT LIKE ME, PEOPLE! Stay FARRRR away!

Waste of moneyBy Brie Mandarino, posted: May 13My fiance and i signed a 2-year agreement in December of 2011 with brand new phones. Our monthly bill was $180, which we soon changed to the share everything plan but they were still charging us $165; every month they would tell us we were going over in our data, but when we would check it ourselves on our phones or by going in to a store we were fine, but yet they would still charge us for it. Our phones didn't even last the year before they started dying out, but they wouldn't let us purchase new ones for anything less than $250. Then we moved to Taylor Mill and couldn't even get service in our own home. So now that we've cancelled our service 8 months early, they are trying to charge us $450 PER PHONE!!! Our contract clearly states that they can charge us UP TO $350 PER ACCOUNT, definitely not $450 and definitely not per phone. Signing a contract with Verizon was nothing but a constant hassle and rip-off. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

RIP OFFBy Toade, posted: May 13I have been a customer for four years. I have monitored my contract end date, because everytime I upgrade, the plan I have is OF COURSE no longer available; the new plans have less minutes, or less data, etc. AND COST MORE. The day was approaching so I switched to Straight Talk. All is GREAT! After making sure contacts changed over and notified, I call Verizon to cancel service. ONLY TO FIND OUT THE CONTRACT END DATE IS NOW END OF THIS MONTH!?!?!?! AND even if they still showed contract end date was last month, and it is now the second day of the following month, I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE ENTIRE MONTH!!!!!! FOR TWO DAYS OF SERVICE!!! They will not waive this month, and will charge me $120 each for my two phones to cancel today, because the contract end date is now different than last week. If you go with Verizon, coverage is great, but you will feel it in the wallet for sure. Prepare to grab your ankles....

Verizon is just like the other 3By Jerryz, posted: Apr 13I have used Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile over the past 12 years. Look at all the complaints for the 4 companies on this website. All 4 lack great customer service, They all have service problems at one point or another, they are all after more and more money and if we switch, well, they get more money. If people are getting great service, they love their company. All 4 companies have those people. If people are not getting great service, they hate their company. All 4 companies have those people as well. What we have failed to learn is that we created these monsters because we want more and more, faster and faster, now, now, now. These companies don't care because as soon as you drop service and switch, someone is switching back to one of the other 3. It is a cycle and they are all in it together. Think about it. If you owned one of these companies, wouldn't you fix the billing issues, the customer care issues, the phone issues, give discounts to your loyal customers etc.etc. These companies just don't care because if they don't get the money from me or you they will get it from someone else. It is estimated there are almost 300 million devices with contracts with these 4 companies at an average of $80 per line. That is over $24 BILLION per month collectively. THAT'S WHY THEY DON'T CARE, PERIOD. If each customer kept their current provider but found a way to reduce services by about $20 per month per device, it would take from their pockets approximately 6 BILLION $$ per month collectively. Think that would open their eyes and make them change. We should try it.
