Verizon will rip you off every chance they get.
By Eugene Barufkin, posted: Dec 12Read all these reviews to find out why Verizon is LOOSING 50,000 plus customers PER MONTH!!. This is reported in financial news. Every rip off I read here they are doing to me. My only choice is to stop paying and let them take me to court.
1.7 overallPay by credit card, not automatic bank draft
By copperminer, posted: Nov 12My employer provided me with a Verizon phone, so I decided to cancel my personal account. I checked on-line and waited several months until it was out of contract. Then I ported it to Google voice to keep the number without paying a monthly fee. Verizon charged me a $120 early termination fee plus $14 in fees. I called customer service and they said it was a mistake and they would cancel the fee, but never did. When I made repeated calls, they promised to call back within 72 hours but never called back. They do not respond to my letters. They have never refunded the $134. If you have Verizon and pay by automatic bank draft, change your payment method to credit card. That way if they make an unauthorized charge, you can get it reversed. Also if you have a card which pays miles, you will be earning miles or awards. DO NOT AUTHORIZE VERIZON TO MAKE AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFTS FROM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT. They will make fraudulent drafts from your checking account.- 1.0 overall
Verizon is a joke
By Sonny Burt, posted: Oct 12I have been with verizon for 8 years and was okay with them until the brought out Alltel. This is were the troubles begin. Everything from bad customer service on prepaid and post pay accounts, to trying to force data packages out to customers, which i did not want. I wanted a month to month plans, because of the features that you get with it. Verizon refuse me and told me I had to be on a contract plan to receive those features. They told me I could to prepaid if I wanted to, which was $20 cheaper than the contract plan but you have to call into customer service to make changes and all. They are getting to big of a company and just want to squeeze money out of the customers - 2.3 overall
Verizon ripped me off.
By Allison Kasey Saffle, posted: Oct 12I have been with verizon scents Altel sold out to them. My brother wanted the iPhone. He's on my plan and I agreed that's fine. So he got the iPhone 4S, and paid $200. Less then 30 days later the 4s went down to $100. And Verizon refused to give me the rebate. They had no explanation as to why even though it was within the first 30 day. I have had several problems and this is the last straw. We are considering a new phone company - 1.0 overall

FUCK YOU VERIZON
By Mareena Ferretti, posted: Sep 12So I've been with verizon for 5 year. I haven't had a problem, since i went on my own plan. I put down a $400 deposits. I was never late on a payment! When it came time to give me the deposits back they said no big deal should be at your house it a week. Well since then they used money out of it to pay my last bill before i even received the bill, and now its been two months. I still haven't gotten the money. I call customer service and it take 2 hours they transfer me and hang up and i have to call again. Finallly i go into the store and ask whats going on they tell me it will be there in a week. Another week goes by........... still not here. So to avoid aggravation on the phone i go back in. They say theres nothing they can do they are waiting on this mystery person to send the check and they can't do anything to help me. SO PISSED OFF> NEVER GET VERIZON THEY BALL BIG BALLS!
1.0 overall12 year customer - I AM DONE WITH VERIZON
By TammyC, posted: Sep 12SHOP AROUND BEFORE YOU DECIDE ON VERIZON. I have been a Verizon customer for well over 12 years. Never had a problem with them..actually, they were (at one time) quite willing to accommodate ANY issue I had with great results. But the last year or so they have become worse then the Wall Street Bankers and Investment Advisors. And it all started with getting a smart-phone. I was told by Verizon rep that if I bought 2 smart phones (which I was going to do anyways as we upgraded our son to a smart phone) that 1 was free (mine) and the other (son's) was discounted price WITH a $50.00 mail-in rebate. Got both phones and called them about the rebate as there were no rebate papers included. It was then that I was informed that NEITHER phone had a special...in other words, charged for both with no rebate. Totalling over $500. As I was disputing this for several weeks with Verizon, it 'appeared' that my account was way overdue. They shut all 3 of our phones off. When I 'came unglued on them in a conversation', they 'gladly' turned them back on...WITH A FREAKIN' RECONNECTION CHARGE. By this time I was boiling. So I inquired about shutting them off and going with another carrier. Well, guess what...wait for it...YES - I could do that - but I had to pay an 'early cancellation fee' for EACH phone. And then my phone malfunctioned. So I had to have a replacement (refurbished) sent and it doesn't work right, but they will not send another refurbished one. I have noticed that in the last 8 months, my phone bill is mysteriously creeping upwards every month. The new thing now with them is the data usage. I originally put the limited data plan on my phone as I don't use it. I only needed it if we were traveling, which was maybe once every 5 or 6 months for a weekend. The last 3 months, they have been charging me for 'overage usage on data'. Hmmm. Considering that I do NOT and did NOT use it I find it difficult to have to pay for it. I am SO done with Verizon. I am definetly switching carriers...but I can't do that until MY contract runs out in December. Is it December yet??? And to think that I have steered many many friends to them. VERIZON....GET OFF YOUR HIGH HORSE. WE THE CUSTOMERS ARE THE REASON YOU ARE STILL IN BUSINESS. IF YOU DON'T WANT US AS A CUSTOMER, THEN SOMEONE ELSE WILL GLADLY ACCEPT US.- 1.0 overall
Verizon fucking sucks!
By Geoffry Gunawan, posted: Aug 12I've had my laptop for over half a year now and never had a problem with my broadband modem, not until now! Okay so i do use my wifi on my iPhone and iPad as well, so is that the problem?? Do i have to pay another bullshit fee just so i can use my wifi on my laptop? You gotta be kidding me cause that's just fucking rediculous.. How much of my money do you want? After i get this internet problem fixed, i will be watching for one more mishap, because if something stupid like this happens again i'm done with Verizon, you have my word. - 1.0 overall
Verizon is TERRIBLE!!!
By James Sartor, posted: Aug 12Had Verizon 2 months. Phone wouldn't work with my Ford Sync; emails sent to me took a couple of days to get to my phone and then they came in a bunch. People at store didn't know how phone worked, didn't have a clue whether it would even work with Sync but one person did offer to buy the phone from me. Slightly illegal I believe. In summary, two months was too much. Am gladly paying their extortion money of $350 to get out of my plan early. Went to Sprint store; got great service; they synced my phone for me and gave me an AAA member discount and a trade in value for my Verizon phone. Down with Verizon!!!!
1.0 overallShady and dishonest - keep good records you may need a lawyer
By amj_jxn, posted: Aug 12Print screen all your online account billing and contract information! If you don't they will change your information to reflect and benefit their pocket books. I went in store and called Verizon directly to confirm that my contract ended, they both said Yes and you can upgrade your phone if you want to renew your contract. Verizon did not have a plan that would meet my financial needs so I cancelled my service. They then told me that my final bill would be mailed to me and would include a $150 cancellation fee and were going to charge me through the end of the month (billing cycle). They had already instantly cancelled my online access to my account and shut my phone off the day I was in there – I had no access to Verizon whatsoever at that point, but they still were billing me for service I was NOT getting! Apparently Verizon is too big of a company and their executives are more concerned with lining their pockets than being honest with the public! Watch out all new customers and current customers who think they’re no longer under contract!
