DON'T buy Apple products from Verizon
By Nora D'Amico Morrissey, posted: Dec 12Verizon in Glastonbury, CT has horrible customer service! They are unwilling to work with their customers and they lie! I just bought my iPhone 5- 4 weeks ago...it froze-up the first day...I was promised a replacement in a few days. One week later I finally received my refurbished iPhone5. Today(3 weeks later) it froze again! I called Verizon, the women promised me a new phone (she told me what I wanted to hear to get me off the phone)...when I arrived at the store they said I couldn't replace my phone (they said there was no notes in the system regarding my conversation with Shana) they inferred I was lying-that she never told me she called and spoke with the store and that I could get a replacement phone)...I had to contact tech support, again (who was no help at this point) and get yet another refurbished phone through the mail. I went directly to the Apple store-was in and out of their store within 15 minutes (the day after Christmas with almost 200 people in the store) with my new phone...no questions asked> Love Apple...Hate Verizon - 4.7 overall
Plan change warning
By Darin Plutchok, posted: Dec 12I just changed my plan to unlimited minutes, which was very easy to do. However, be aware that they make the change retroactive so that it takes effect from your normal billing date. For me this means that even though my billing cycle is half done they are billing me at the new unlimited rate for the entire billing cycle. In other words, I am paying for two weeks of a service which I never used. This is unfair and I would like to see Verizon prorate these charges so that we pay for what we get. - 1.0 overall
very unhappy
By macyberlyn, posted: Dec 12Im frustrated to say that my verizon experience is so negative I'd love to see them all shut down. Lets start with the service, even though im at my house were i should have full 4G service and i have wireless my phone will not load the internet, the phone is more likely to grow wings and fly then have regular service. Dont get me wrong calls are rarely dropped but i dont own a smart phone cause i enjoy the outrageous bill id like the internet to be consistent and the only thing consistent is my anger with it never working. Ok how about customer service? I could write a book on how verizon employees try to keep you on the phone as long as they can whild literally not helping you at all. If verizon paid me minimum wage for every hour i spent in a store or on the phone cause my bill was wrong or phone was broke it would cover my whole bill each month. The worst customer service iv ever delt with. Next the device, i have the RAZR. When i signed my new contact somehow i didn't end up with insurance, i went with paperless billing and didnt notice i wasn't being billed for it because i promise if you have verizon and you dont have insurance your an idiot. So i dont know i dont have insurance until they bill me $300 for a refurbished phone when i sent mine back because i was having alot of problems with it. I was TOLD there was water damage but could not open the pictures from my lovely phone. Oh and the refurbished phone they sent me and charged me $300! For didnt even work i had to send it right back for them to send another they is not like new and does not work proper however if i try to send it back they will likely charge me another 300$ for this pos refurbished phone! I could continue writing this book unfortunately i have many more bad experiences but my phone is freaking out and im having doubts about this posting I hope i save ya some trouble just avoid Verizon! If it werent 300 to cancel each line on my plan i would have already left.
2.3 overallBeCareful, the employees lie. With no accountability.
By schiro597, posted: Dec 12Be careful. I switched to Verizon from Tmobile for two reasons, the iPhone and was told of a 17% discount from my employer. I went to the Verizon store and when I eventually got one on the employees to stop watching one of the 5 tv's in the store, all I got was lies. They told me I get 17percent off my full plan, there were no activation fees, and...and...whatever it took to get me to switch. Then after I did, the fun began. I get a bill for $60 in activation fees, a prorated bill for a week or two of service of $40, then a few weeks later a bill for over $220 for the next months service and a prepay for the month ahead. Plus the price of the phones and etc. now in one month I'm like $600 dollars into Verizon, all this after I specifically asked up front first about fees. I call Verizon for help...not to try to scam out of all these fees and charges, but for help spreading payments. They didn't care and told me I can go into default mess my credit than they will work a payment plan after my credit gets messed. They made me feel like some uneducated high school kid who went crazy with a new credit card. Needless to say I had to take money from savings account. Then, my iPhone microphone had was messing up since day one. I would take it in and it would work ok, than few hours later it would stop. Of course until it quits working I front of them they will do nothing. This went on for almost 3weeks before it finally quit working in store. They employee again with the lies tells me I will get a new phone only for them to exchange with a re manufactured phone. Then after I get my used phone I call and go in to be told after 14day you get a used crap phone even though I payed full price for a phone that was acting up since day one. I was told new replacement! And they don't care and will not even budge on anything. Also the 17%discount is only on one small part if plan so it's like 6bucks off a plan that is $20 more than Tmoble........BeCareful the employees can say whatever they want and promise anything, and nobody holds them accountable.- 1.0 overall
Nothing but Liars & ripoffs
By Michael Burns, posted: Dec 12I took a friend to Verizon in Waco, TX even though I really wanted to go to At&t, well I explained to the sales guy that where we lived there was very little service fro wireless company's. After showing him on the map exactly where the house was (google earth) he assured us there was service there. My friend purchased a 2 year plan with phone after putting a $250.00 deposit. We got home and guess what ?? NO SERVICE 111 inside the house .WE live 50 miles from Waco the sales guy said we had a 14 day period that we could return the phones. We returned the next week gave the phones back he said there would be a $35.00 restock fee on each phone !! I said hey we like the phones but no service at home why should she pay a restock fee you said they're would be service. We left he said deposit returns would take 10 days. Two weeks later no deposits, she called they said it would be 2 weeks more but she would not be charged anything for restock fees. Two weeks later no deposit returns,. She calls now they say she'll only get back $135.00 because of restock fees, activation fees and phone use for 10 days. I get on the phone and ask her to talk to her supervisor. she puts me on hold and say she'll call me in 2 hours yea right that was yesterday. So this proves they lied about the service. They lied about the deposit return many times and everything else. Now you decide Verizon or not. Good luck if you choose them. Bait and Switch Rip-Off
By Mark Hanna, posted: Dec 12Do not change to Share Everything Plan. They ripped me off. The Verizon service person convinced me it would be best for my plan to switch to the Share Everything plan for my wife and I who had recently upgraded to smart phones. He did not mention in his analysis that the other two emergency only basic phones for my elderly mother and our young children that we had on our current service would go from $9.99/mo each to $35/mo each. The bait and switch tactic they employ is that you only have 15 days to change back to the old plan where we had unlimited data. There is no way we would have known in the 15 days. When we did figure out the deceit, they said we were at fault for waiting so long and that they would change us back but only with a limited data plan. We discontinued our children's phone, switched my mom to a Consumer Cellular phone and marked our calendar with the date we can dump Verizon. - 1.0 overall
Be aware of Radio Shack + Virezon hot spot deal...
By Mike Marco, posted: Dec 12Radio Shack is reselling Verizon' services...however what they told and sold, would not be honored by Verizon....Verizon will keep charging you what ever they think is right.... - 2.3 overall
Verizon will rip you off every chance they get.
By Eugene Barufkin, posted: Dec 12Read all these reviews to find out why Verizon is LOOSING 50,000 plus customers PER MONTH!!. This is reported in financial news. Every rip off I read here they are doing to me. My only choice is to stop paying and let them take me to court.
1.7 overallPay by credit card, not automatic bank draft
By copperminer, posted: Nov 12My employer provided me with a Verizon phone, so I decided to cancel my personal account. I checked on-line and waited several months until it was out of contract. Then I ported it to Google voice to keep the number without paying a monthly fee. Verizon charged me a $120 early termination fee plus $14 in fees. I called customer service and they said it was a mistake and they would cancel the fee, but never did. When I made repeated calls, they promised to call back within 72 hours but never called back. They do not respond to my letters. They have never refunded the $134. If you have Verizon and pay by automatic bank draft, change your payment method to credit card. That way if they make an unauthorized charge, you can get it reversed. Also if you have a card which pays miles, you will be earning miles or awards. DO NOT AUTHORIZE VERIZON TO MAKE AUTOMATIC BANK DRAFTS FROM YOUR CHECKING ACCOUNT. They will make fraudulent drafts from your checking account.- 1.0 overall
Verizon is a joke
By Sonny Burt, posted: Oct 12I have been with verizon for 8 years and was okay with them until the brought out Alltel. This is were the troubles begin. Everything from bad customer service on prepaid and post pay accounts, to trying to force data packages out to customers, which i did not want. I wanted a month to month plans, because of the features that you get with it. Verizon refuse me and told me I had to be on a contract plan to receive those features. They told me I could to prepaid if I wanted to, which was $20 cheaper than the contract plan but you have to call into customer service to make changes and all. They are getting to big of a company and just want to squeeze money out of the customers
