Product description

The multitasking Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth headset acts as a standard mono earpiece connecting you wirelessly to your phone for easy handsfree communication. But it also comes with a second earpiece, converting it into a wireless stereo headset for listening to your phone's music library. The headset features Bluetooth 2.0, the latest in wireless mobile technology, and provides enhanced usability with longer talk time and a clearer signal due to DSP (digital signal processing) background noise cancellation.

Enjoy wireless stereo playback of your phone's music library with the Jabra BT8010 Bluetooth stereo headset.

The main headset offers a host of controls as well as an OLED screen that can recall up to 30 stored contacts.
The main mono unit of the Jabra BT8010 looks like a standard wireless headset with a comfortable ear loop. However, unlike most headsets, it includes a large OLED (organic light emitting diode) display on the side (with blue text on black background) that displays volume level, battery level, mode (phone or music), and caller ID. The BT8010 has a scrollable call history of the latest 15 incoming calls as well as an internal phonebook of 30 contacts. It includes controls for answering/ending a call and music playback, as well as dialing the last number or rejecting a call (phone dependent features).

When you're ready to listen to your tunes, simply connect the second stereo earpiece to the main mono headset via the 14-inch USB cable and tap the mode button to switch to Music mode. While in this mode, the headset functions as a remote control for your music player with play, pause, track forward, and volume functions.

The Jabra BT8010 receives and plays Bluetooth stereo music direct from mobile phones or music players that support the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP) for advanced stereo and the Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP) for remote control from the headset. It's simple to get started with features such as auto-pairing for an easy connection to phones and a jog wheel for navigation of the headset's menus. It also has a multipoint connection that allows simultaneous connection to two devices such as a PC and a phone, or music player and phone. You'll get up to 10 hours of talk time, 6 hours of music streaming, and 300 hours of standby time.

  Shocking Headset, 2008-08-20
I have never had a bluetooth with a vibrate function.
You can see where this is going.
It is BTW comfortable, has great clarity and so on.
But this evening in the kitchen I had forgotten I still had the headset on
... in my ear I heard ding ding ding BUZZZZZZZZZZZ BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
and kids it was loud enough to wake the dead. When I realized there wasn't the mother of all bumble bees in my ear, and changed my shorts, I decided to share :-)
I'm glad I bought it. Good unit

  Very good, 2008-08-19
Awesome toy! The description does not do it justice. It has a phone book, equalizer for music, noise reduction and you can pair two devices at the same time. It has very good sound quality and battery life too! I got a good deal from a Amazon seller too. If I must be overly critical, then it's 1) left (smaller) and right (bigger w/main control) headsets are not the same size, 2) the one on the right pinches my ear a little. 3) I would like to have a case instead of a nice bag that does little to protect the headsets from getting crush.

Could be a great product, 2008-08-14
Could be, but it isn't.
I had another cople of Jabra headsets. One the BT800 with a litle screen, and the A620 with separeted controls for the phone and the music.
I was suprise to find that some graet functions I have in the other models, Jabra doesn't included in this one. It can be very powerful to have a screen in your headset, but there is not to much to do with this one.
The other problem is that is a great idea to have a detachable earpiece, but it is really ugly and uncomfortable. I my opinion, a little earpice that fits the ear was a better solution.
By the way, the USB charger it's different for any of the three headset of the same brand I have. It's a little annoying to have different chargers and cables for any device. Use the standart USB connection, please!

  bad customer service, 2008-08-11
I ordered 3 of them, 2 of them came without an issue, but the 1 that had problem, it got very very difficult to get it replaced, the company I ordered from told me to go to Jabra directly, at Jabra website, after entering all the info as per requested, they simply send me an email to how to resolve it and after trying that and notify them again via email (no phone #), and I've asked for an exchange and again, they replied to ask me to do the same process again, it's never ending. Bad customer service.

  A disappointing headset, 2008-08-09
I purchased this unit with high expectations, and was very disappointed to find that none of the control functions work with my Qwest Mogul phone. I also purchased a Lubix bluetooth stereo headset, and all the functions work properly on the Lubix unit, so the problem has to be the Jabra unit. When talking on the phone, the sound quality on the Jabra is very good in both directions, but not being able to control the windows media funtions is a killer for me. Also, these things are VERY bulky and clumsy to use. I cannot recommend this headset when there are other better sets available.
