User reviews perfect, 2008-07-13 very nice holder ,, it is sooo heavy duty iam using it for 1 year @ temp temp C and it is still working IGrip Smartphone Holder, 2008-07-08 The product was easily assembled and fits well on the wind shield. I have had no problem with it moving. However, I was disappointed because it said that it would fit the Blackberry 8100, and it does not. The cradle does not close enough to hold the phone firmly. It does rest nicely, but it is loose and can fall out if the angle of the cradle is not just right. Any small tug will bring it out too easily. I would not have purchased it for the 8100 if I had known this. Excellent for all Smartphones, 2008-04-08 I have a Blackberry and a PDA phone, both of which can fit this mount without any problems. I wish the mount could have a little more flexibility for more positions, but aside from that there's no better bang-for-your-buck holder. I strongly recommend it. Great Product!!!, 2008-03-07 If you need a mount for your cell phone or MP3 Player, I would absolutely recommend this product. It is incredibly sturdy, and the suction cup is extremely strong. I have it stuck to my windshield and it doesnt bounce, or pop off at all. I bought this to hold my Blackberry so I can see my Telenav, and to make handsfree calls. It does have a little larger base than the gooseneck holders that Ive seen, but this is necesarry trade off to make it so sturdy.
This holster is a little more expensive than the others, but if you want a holster that will actually do what you need it to, this is the one to buy! I absolutely recommend this product!! All Treo owners----BEWARE, 2007-07-28 Sorry for the ominous title, but it's true. This was suppose to fit Treo's, it simply does not. I ended up returning the iGrip for the "Akron". Read on...
PROS:
-good suction power on the glass
CONS
-since my Treo has buttons along the left side of the phone (Treo 755p), the foam on the mount would press on them causing it continually open an unwanted application.
-the 'gripping' power of the mount on the phone is lacking.
-since there's nothing on the front of the phone to prevent it from falling out, it always did.
Conclusion:
Look, if you bought a smartphone, you don't want to leave anything to chance on ruining it. Don't mess around with the iGrip mount.
I ended up buying and keeping this mount instead:
Arkon PTM115-B Windshield And Dash Mount For Treo/HTC (Amazon). The Arkon had no CONS, just PROS...
1. It held my phone so securely I never worried about it. If you look closely at the design of the Arkon and compare it against the iGrip you'll see the plastic curves to the front of the phone cradling it.
2. The Arkon mount had more articulation to allow eaiser positioning.
3. ....and finally......It's HALF THE PRICE OF THE iGRIP!!!!
