Great price from eBayProduct descriptionJust plug the charger into any cigarette lighter outlet and power up to four devices at one time. Perfect for charging your phone battery, Blackberry, Bluetooth device and iPod while using other portable electronics. Some phones are difficult to charge from a USB port, but this unit is designed to be compatible with most handsets. What?s in the box: Charger, Installation Manual, Mounting Screws, Velcro Mounting Pads.
User reviews out of the ordinary, 2008-08-30 given the tradition of shoddiness for products associated with the horrible vehicle cigarette lighter power protocol, this happy exception may bring tears to your eyes. the heavy gauge wire starts it off right, feeding the solid enclosure and spotless electronics. i worried that the voltage conversion of the USB portion would load my car battery even with no devices connected, but it appears transparent.
the unit wedges nicely between my center console and passenger seat. haven't mounted it after six months of heavy use, and probably won't. it regularly powers simultaneously my iPod, GPS, MP3 recorder, and huge laptop. if one must harness the abomination of the cigarette lighter plug/socket, this is the way. shipping from GIZMOco was impeccable. Indispensible tool for gadget freaks and road warriors, 2008-08-05 What a truly fantastic product. Between iPods, wireless phones, GPS receivers and other mobile electronics, I have a lot of stuff that needs juice. The single 12 volt outlet in my car didn't come close to satisfying those needs.
This is an especially clever solution since most of what I need to charge draws power over USB. So now I can ditch several of my 12v-to-USB car adapters and just carry around the appropriate cables. With the remaining two outlets I can take care of whatever else needs juice.
One especially nice touch is the 20 amp mini fuse which is easily replaced. My previous power taps for the car all used cylindrical glass fuses which were a pain to find replacements for and even more troublesome to install.
If you're the sort of person who needs this stuff, your eyes lit up immediately upon seeing the product photo. You can buy with confidence -- it definitely won't disappoint. Don't like the power cord, 2008-07-27 Good product but I wish the power cord came out the side and not the bottom. It made it hard for me to find a place to mount the unit in my car. Not Bad, 2008-07-20 Good product, it does it work excellent as a USB charger, except for one thing, when you plug your device it goes to standby mode on most of the devices as it was connected to the PC, you can't charge and use at the same time.
Also it doesn't charge some devices when using USB charger.
It was a gift, and it is LOVED!, 2008-06-05 I bought this multi-use charger for my sister who only has one power outlet in her car. She would always split time between charging and iPod, Tom-Tom, Sirius Satellite Radio and a cell phone. She can now run all four without fear of anything dying on her. 5-Stars, great product!
