Product description

Improving on the original Z9, the enhanced BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth headset incorporates a number of new features and packaged accessories with a focus on comfort and wearability. BlueAnt has refined its Voice Isolation Technology software to improve the Z9i's noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction capabilities.

Thanks to BlueAnt's Voice Isolation Technology, the Z9i provides outstanding noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction.

It comes with both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook.
The Z9i includes both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook: the original translucent style and a more ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook. It also offers an innovative tie clip lets you attach the V1 headset to your shirt or cuff when not in use.

The Z9i incorporates dual microphones allowing for BlueAnt's patented Voice Isolation Technology, a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution that uses advanced techniques to separate the user's voice signal from all other sounds, enhancing and isolating all frequencies that affect voices coming into and out of the headset. This results in outstanding environmental noise reduction, echo cancellation and wind noise protection. You can choose between dual Voice Isolation modes: Standard for use in normal environments to remove mild background noise, and Max, which provides superior voice clarity for use in extremely noisy environments.

The BlueAnt Z9i works with Bluetooth version 2.0 and its multi-point technology allows you to connect simultaneously to two phones and answer the one that rings. The Z9i can now connect with up to five Bluetooth devices (instead of the Z9's three). Automatic reconnect also finds the last cell phone or device paired, and automatically reconnects.

Features

  • Two microphones for pure speech
  • Multipoint technology allows connection to two phones simultaneously
  • Automatic connection and reconnection with notification
  • Different ring-tones for known and unknown contacts
  • Innovative tie clip for attaching to shirt or cuff, when not in use
  • Choice between a stylish, translucent or ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook
  • Firmware upgrade via USB on your PC
  • Small and lightweight (just 1.5 inches in length and weighs only 0.35 ounces)
  • Up to 5.5 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby
  • Bluetooth v2.0 with Headset Profile, Hands-Free profile
  • Two-year replacement warranty

User reviews

  best i 've had, 2008-10-13
I've tried many bluetooth headsets ( Jabra, plantronics)all claiming to be noise cancelling . This is the best I've had and the best fitting also.

Great fit and generally good sound quality - noise cancellation is questionable, 2008-10-10
I did a TON of research before buying the Z9i. It came down to the Z9i or the Jawbone 2 for me, as I was looking for a small, stylish device with the best noise cancellation possible. I've had the Z9i now for 3-4 weeks, and I am satisfied with the device in terms of design, functionality, and general sound quality. HOWEVER, the noise cancellation feature has disappointed me. One of the first things I did when I received the device was to test the noise cancellation in a noisy restaurant. I called my office phone and left a voicemail for myself using the Z9i. I left one message before activating the noise cancellation "max" feature, and then one after. Honestly, according to the voicemail recording, I could barely tell a difference between the two recordings.

So, all that to say -- I recommend this device as a great bluetooth for general use. But, if you are like me and find yourself in noisy airports, etc, you may be disappointed in the "advertised" noise cancellation technology.

  I love this headset, 2008-10-10
I use this for when I am at home and need to be hands free for other tasks while conversing with someone. Decent range, but a little static-y when at it's range limit or there are walls between it and the phone.

I've used the super noise canceling one time but was told that it made things worse, so I just use the first setting. Very comfortable, but I sometimes feel that it might pop out of my ear when I move around. However, when I get this feeling, I can shake my head and it is firmly in place, so it might just be that it is very light.

This is the first BT headset I've used, and it seems to be a good buy. Recommended.

  Another adequate earpiece , 2008-10-09
This earpiece is just like many of the other earpieces in this price range. It has decent clarity but the placement of the buttons makes it hard to operate without grasping the unit for support. The ear inserts can be a little uncomfortable when worn for a long time and the port for the charger is difficult to connect to.All in all the search continues for the "Perfect" earpiece.

Top of the line is still below the bar, 2008-10-07
4 stars because as good as the BlueAnt is, I believe the bar is still too low for these type of devises. Voice quality should be better (even more natural sounding), listening volume should be louder; while the person I am talking to can easily and clearly hear me above typical mixed ambient noise levels, I often can not say the same. In my car, windows have to be rolled up to hear the callee, even tough they can hear me just fine. Walking my dog, should a noisy car or God forbid a motorcycle drive by, forget it, there is no way I can hear the callee even though they hear me just fine. BlueAnt is the value leader for high-end Bluetooth Headsets, pairs easily to most phones and is easy to use. One can purchase two of these to one of the arguably better Jawbone II's; do the math it's a no brainer and buy the BlueAnt.

    Mini-Review: BlackBerry 8220

The first ever flip BlackBerry is a winner, so long as you play to its strengths.  While the 8220 is very large for a modern day flip phone, it's lightweight and slick looking enough to trick you into thinking it's a little smaller than it really is.  I've had the 8220 for just under a week now, and I very quickly grew used to carrying it around in my pocket.  No, it's not as thin as a RAZR or as small as a low-end sliderphone,...

Hey, look what just came!  Thanks, Vanessa ;-)  Here are some photos of the black LG Lotus for Sprint.  The QWERTY board feels GREAT so far, as those bubbled chiclet-style keys make up for the relatively small size of the layout.  Sprint's new One Click UI is sort of cool and helpful and sort of overdone; I'll have to play with it more, but I hope it winds up being handier more often than it gets in the way.  And I'm...
