User reviews Works great for LG Chocolate VX8550, 2009-01-06 I had tried another adapter with only "2 rings" and it did not work. This one has 3 rings and works great with my LG chocolate. Great sound. The package that arrived said "Cingular" not Motorola, but I don't care as long as it works. tAccessaries website to buy., 2008-12-16 This does not work with Blackberry. You have to go to Blackberry site to buy.
When I tried it and it did not work, I went to Radio Shack to find out why. They were very nice to explain that: From a technology standpoint, although the size: 3.5mm to 2.5mm is correct, there is something to the adaptor that will not work with Blackberry PDA. adapter, 2008-11-24 I'm not sure why people are giving this a 1 star when they ordered the wrong thing because they didn't read any description. One person was looking for a 3.5mm cord with a male at both ends. This clearly states 2.5mm at one end; this is where it can be kind of confusing. The male end is 2.5mm with 3 "rings" (some players need 2 rings), the female end is 3.5mm. I put a cassette adapter into my cars tape player then plug the 3.5 mm male end of the cassette adapter into the 3.5mm female end of the cord adapter. Then I plug the cord adapter's 2.5mm male end into my LG ENV2's 2.5mm female input.
Make sure you know how many "rings" you need for the male end. If you need 3 but only have 2 you get sound out of the right side speakers only or something like that.
Also it came in a Cingular package not Motorola??? either way it works!!! Great replacement for original product., 2008-10-30 Vary special type of item which is hard to find. $260 devise won't work without it. The original wire which came with the devise has a short life with brittle connections. Manifacture has no replacement available for sale, and want's you to purchase a new device at $260 or more. Not Same Product Shipped, but works just as good or better...., 2008-10-27 The item sent was not a Motorola adapter, but the Seidio Audio Adaptor. Amazon has a problem letting you select the Seidio for some reason. But this worked for my 8830 perfectly!! Be sure to re-flash your Blackberry with the latest OS in order to have the adapter to work correctly. Older OS versions you have to start the music before using the adapter. The new OS does not have this requirement.
