Great price from eBayProduct descriptionThe Jawbone 2 is the next step in the integration of best-in-class noise elimination technology with personal design that is both humanistic and minimal. It has powerful noise suppression algorithms for use in the most extreme acoustic noise environments including battlefields and helicopters. The algorithms use Jawbone's two microphones and the VAS (Voice Activity Sensor) to accurately model the noise environment. Jawbone detects when and how a person is speaking, models the noise, and aggressively eliminates it. Conventional "noise eliminating" headsets do not have the VAS and can only estimate when speech is occurring with software-based Voice Activation Detection (VAD) systems. For these systems to work, the speech must be significantly louder or spectrally different from the noise. These systems fail in loud environments or in the presence of other people's speech. Furthermore, because they can't accurately identify the speech signals, they distort the speech in the process of attempting to eliminate the noise. The result of this distortion is a significant degradation in intelligibility and quality in order to achieve a perceptual reduction in noise.
User reviews Like it but dont love it, ear piece is a bit of an issue, 2009-01-08 I ordered the well known jawbone and was so excited to get it, I was able to get the right ear bud, and well the piece that holds it over your ear is another story! I have had nothing but issues keeping it on and in the small hole provided, it seems to twist and turn on its own, or perhaps I just dont know what I am doing....not likely! Over all not a bad headset...but who knows maybe it has to GROW on you! Good luck! Uncomfortable ear fit, 2009-01-07 The reception is great. The only problem is with the fit.The directions said the jawbone has to touch your face at all times. I could not get mine to do that no matter how much I bent the wire as instructed. The smallest ear bud provided is still too large. When using the jawbone I have to hold it to my face when talking. This defeats my purpose for buying it. If I could get a smaller ear bud, that would solve that problem I think. Best Bluetooth Headset, 2009-01-07 I love the sound quality of this headset. I've had a dozen different headsets and this is the best. I owned and loved the original Jawbone, but it never quite fit right. I have smaller ears and this Jawbone ear piece works great for me. My husband also has this headset and hated it, because his ears are large. But he got a set of the Jabra Ear Gels - Clear (sold at amazon.com) and that solved his problem. Now he likes the Jawbone, too. Works great with iPhones. Jawbone 2 Bluetooth, 2009-01-07 So far, this is the best bluetooth in the market. It's sleek, rich-looking, beautiful and sexy. It's definitely worth the money. I even bought another one for my partner, Scott. Jawbone I is better, 2009-01-06 I heard a lot of complaints from others with this jawbone, but I thought there was no way I'd run into the scenerio. I did, the bluetooth was light, with a great noise assassin feature. The problem was once it moved away from your face, people on the other line thought I was falling off a bridge. I would continously lose pairing, and the echoes didn't help. I would suggest using the Jawbone I if any.
