Product description

Arkon's SM212 Weighted Friction Dash mount with Suction pedestal is a great solution for mounting a Cell phone, Smartphone, PDA or MP3 player on your vehicles dashboard without the need for adhesives. This is the ideal solution for regions of the US and Canada where windshield mounts are prohibited. The unique low-profile U shaped design along with the industry's only Safety Anchor option is the perfect solution when using a mobile device for GPS navigation, hands-free Bluetooth use or MP3 play back in a vehicle. This is two solutions in one, the base can be used as an optional mount for a Portable Navigation Device as well.

  Works Great!, 2009-11-18
I bought this for my iPhone 3G and 3GS and it works great on both phones. It also works great in both my cars (Honda Accord and Honda CRV). The friction mount does not slide around on the dashboard even without the clip that you can stick onto the dashboard. The phone stays securely in the holder. I have not had the phone fall out while driving over the past two months. I would recommend this product to anyone.

  Akron Weighted Dash Mount, 2009-11-14
This was exactly what I needed for my iPhone. It met all of my expectations. It was easy to assemble out of the box (less than five minutes). I use it everyday and have had no problems with it.

Perfect for the iPhone 3GS with a case on it., 2009-10-23
I have been searching for a car kit that could handle my iPhone with the case on. I have an iFrogz case on it. I decided to try the SM212. And boy am I happy I did. It is perfect. I also have a weird slanted dash and the SM212 has no issue staying put. The adhesive on the dash clip did not stick to my dash (yes, I cleaned the dash). However, I had some better double stick adhesive which worked fine. Still a fantastic product. Highly recommended.

  Excellent value, 2009-10-07
I purchased this mount for my iPhone 3G. I am very pleased. The item stays very securely on the dashboard and has multiple adjustments to give you the perfect viewing angle. The only negative comment I have is that the bottom tensioner will not support anything wider than the standard iPhone dock plug. I purchased a Satechi iPhone FM transmitter and it is too wide for the tensioner; I'm attempting to get a refund on that as it is rendered useless with this configuration.

One other thing if Amazon is reading this: WHY DO YOU DROP THE PRICE RIGHT AFTER I PURCHASE SOMETHING??? I should get a price guarantee and Amazon should credit my account.

Better and more flexible than the Garmin mount, 2009-10-04
I bought this for my Palm Pre. My only complaint is the it blocks the charging port of the Palm Pre when the keyboard isn't slid out. Otherwise it is a fantastic mount. I prefer it to the Garmin friction mount I got for my Nuvi GPS. It is a lot heavier and seems to stay on my dash better. What I like most is that unlike the Garmin mount, this one allows you to use whatever suction cup mount you already have for your device. You can just clip the suction cup mount onto the base of this and it sticks on very well without being impossible to remove. It also includes a hook mount to prevent it from sliding around on your dashboard, but I didn't need it.
