Designed to provide crisp, clear sound even in windy environments, this headset has the added convenience of a compact design that keeps the cord neatly stowed when not in use. With patent-pending WindSmart technology, the MX300 eliminates the whistles and static often associated with windy environments.Featuring the RetractPro automatic cord winder, the MX300 allows the cord to easily extend whenever you need to use the headset. And with the touch of a button, the cord quickly and easily retracts for compact stowage. With the unique Flex Grip earpiece, the MX300 is comfortable to wear and stays in place even during extended use.
User reviews Exceptional wired headset, 2008-12-18 Having purchased numerous wired headsets before and since my first Plantronics MX300, I can rate this best in class. I write this review having ordered several to stave off dwindling supply as resellers shed their terminal stock.
Wind is substantially filtered without sacrificing voice quality. In side-by-side tests, voice quality for the remote listener is better than any model I have sampled, wind-reducing or otherwise. The user enjoys a clear listening experience, as well.
The earpiece design is a personal favorite. If you have ears that won't seem to hold on to those popular compression-style earpieces, you will covet these lobe grips. Great Product, 2007-06-26 I love this hands free set. I lost mine and can't wait to get another one. The I hestiated to get it because I was worried about it feeling like a clip on earing (OUCH!) but you can't even tell it's there. This also prevents the ear part from falling out at the slightest movement. It can fit into almost any size/shape ear thanks to the soft clip.
I do agree with a previous poster that the retractable part is annoying but when the rest is great, who cares? Is OK, 2007-05-13 Does what it says, pretty good sound, snaps back easily. Just nothing extra good that makes me normally put a five star. Poor Design, 2007-05-02 The label Retractable Mobile Headset led me to believe that I could plug it into my phone and clip it on my belt, then pull the earpiece out when the phone rings and use it. Great Idea.
However, the retractable mechanisim is stupidly designed to pull and release both ends at once. One end should be set at a small length to plug into a phone, while the earpiece end extends or retracts. Nope, not the way this one works. If you retract the earpiece end, the phone connection end retracts also.
Absolutely useless - not worth one dollar, let alone almost $30. Practical headset, 2007-03-25 We have three of these headsets and keep them in the car, in jackets, workbag, etc, and I just ordered two more. We have had our first one for more than a year and have had no problems with it not working or breaking. The retractable cord works great. We tried other retractable headsets (Jabra, for one) and none worked as well as this one. Sound is good, too. Recommend for anyone who doesn't like Bluetooth and doesn't want to get their cords all tangled up.
