  Prophylatic for your phone, 2008-10-15
I got this with my Viewty when I bought it, and this is my first experience with any kind of cell phone protectors.

For what it is, it works excellent. The LG KU990 isn't a cheap phone (about $350-400), and the protector is cheap (about $5) insurance to keep it looking new and working properly. The silicone rubber this is made out of is specially treated to make it more elastic, less opaque, and more shock-absorbant, which is good, because cell phones seem to get dropped a lot, and it can be painful to see your expensive phone get a big scratch, ding, or dent in it. The skin also protects from moisture and water infiltration, and from abrasion, so chrome plating or paint won't get rubbed off.

My only gripe is that if you tote the phone around in your pocket, getting it out in a hurry is a problem if it's got this skin on it. The rubber seems to stick to fabric, and it acts as Velcro, making it hard to get the phone out (especially if there's a call). Another thing is that owners of the newest version of the Viewty (the KU990R) will notice that there's no cut-out for the lens cover retractor. This was an annoyance, so I cut a slot in the case for it. It would be nice if this was done already.

Overall, if you have an expensive phone (I live in the US of A, so I had to buy my Viewty unlocked, it's not offered through any American cellular provider, which makes it expensive) I strongly recommend this addition.
It's cheap insurance, and can add years to the life of your handset.
