User reviews False advertisement if you owe a Palm Treo, 2008-09-17 If you owe a Palm Treo 680 don't bother ordering this product it does not work, not even close. I was very diapointed with the fact that Amazon has this seller in their lineup, complete robbery not even close and to send back the product costs me as much as the gadget itself, I opted not to send it back. Don't bother with the telephone unless you have a lot of time to waste, like to listen to speaker phone music or like to punch buttons in your phone for fun. Whatever happenned to companies that offer a human voice in their service department. A huge disapointment, coming from Amazon. Bottom line be careful about cellphone gadgets. works, but definitely is NOT a"premium stereo headset"; don't buy, 2008-08-07 This headphone headset works to listen to (but not enjoy) your MP3s on your cell phone (specifically, my Palm Centro), and still use it to also answer and talk on your cell phone. But it is HARDLY a "premium stereo headset."
That's the best thing I can say about it. It works. It's a cell phone headset that happens to have two ear buds instead of just one. That's it!
I am hardly an audiophile. I still listen to cassette tapes in my car if I'm not using my MP3 player with the car stereo. I'm happy enough with the sound from the factory-installed Toyota AM/FM/CD/cassette player and the factory-installed speakers. I have a friend (who IS an audiophile) who keeps telling me to buy some decent car speakers. But the ones that came with my Echo are good enough for me, and I enjoy everything from classical symphonic and opera music to audiobooks to retro-80s, "classic" rock, 90s grunge, LA punk from back in the day, electronica, and trip-hop in my car.
The music tonal range reproduction through this headphone headset is way below average. You get better sound and stereo reproduction from the cheap earphones or earbuds that come with 1G or 2G MP3 "sport" MP3 players!! (Such as the earbuds that came with my 2G Insignia Sport MP3 player.)
I'm not asking for or expecting something like simulated surround sound, by any means. But this headphone headset sounds like you're playing your MP3s on one of those old wind up children's Disney vinyl phonograph players from the 80s. The music sound reproduction is so bad, it's almost monaural, instead of the "stereo" sound it claims to have. I know it's the headset and not the player itself because I have a 2G microSD card I can switch from my Insignia MP3 player to my Palm Centro--and all the music on that 2G SD sounds great through my Insignia MP3 player. Even the Centro's single speaker give the MP3s more depth and dimension than this headset!
I took a chance on this because it was cheap, but there were no product reviews at the time. Now there is one -- mine.
Don't waste your money on this. Sometimes you do get what you pay for.
