Product description

Improving on the original Z9, the enhanced BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth headset incorporates a number of new features and packaged accessories with a focus on comfort and wearability. BlueAnt has refined its Voice Isolation Technology software to improve the Z9i's noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction capabilities.

Thanks to BlueAnt's Voice Isolation Technology, the Z9i provides outstanding noise suppression, echo cancellation and wind noise reduction.

It comes with both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook.
The Z9i includes both large and small interchangeable ear gels, as well as two types of ear hook: the original translucent style and a more ergonomic, rubberized metal ear hook. It also offers an innovative tie clip lets you attach the V1 headset to your shirt or cuff when not in use.

The Z9i incorporates dual microphones allowing for BlueAnt's patented Voice Isolation Technology, a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) software solution that uses advanced techniques to separate the user's voice signal from all other sounds, enhancing and isolating all frequencies that affect voices coming into and out of the headset. This results in outstanding environmental noise reduction, echo cancellation and wind noise protection. You can choose between dual Voice Isolation modes: Standard for use in normal environments to remove mild background noise, and Max, which provides superior voice clarity for use in extremely noisy environments.

The BlueAnt Z9i works with Bluetooth version 2.0 and its multi-point technology allows you to connect simultaneously to two phones and answer the one that rings. The Z9i can now connect with up to five Bluetooth devices (instead of the Z9's three). Automatic reconnect also finds the last cell phone or device paired, and automatically reconnects.

  Best BT Earphone, 2008-09-02
This is by far the Best Bluetooth Earphone I have ever purchased.
This is the third unit I have purchased for Friends who have seen my own unit.

  Outstanding bluetooth, 2008-09-01
The reason I bought this over the Jawbone 2 is because it can pair with two different phone simutaneously and it did just that. I have a Treo 700p for work and a Blackberry Curve 8830 for personal use and both paired with this device easily. When either phone rings, the bluetooth would pick up the call. The Blueant easily switch between two devices when they ring and you don't have to repair it. Pair it once and forget it. It's totally awesome. As for the voice quality, most people don't even know that I'm on a bluetooth headset and on my end I can hear them loud and clear too. I would highly recommend this to anyone that uses two phones at the same time. Thanks.

  It's ok..., 2008-08-29
I was pretty excited about this little guy. Read a lot of good reviews on it and everyone I talked to said it's comparable to the Jawbone. I took the cheap route and went with the Z9i. The sound cancellation does work. I had it on and sat in front of the television with it moderately loud with my brother on the other end listening. On the normal setting he could hear the television clearly. When I switched to the max setting he could barely hear the television. And I was sitting right in front of the speaker. Impressive. The size is also a bonus. There are two gripes that I have. Blueant disables the handset volume control on my Blackberry Curve for some reason. I like being able to adjust the volume on both my phone and headset. My second complaint is the headset does not automatically pair up when I leave the area then come back into range of the headset. My other headsets would do this. I have to hit the MFD button for it to re-pair with my phone with the Z9i. Overall I'd give it 3.5 stars.

Pros:
Size/Weight
Looks
Noise Cancellation
Price vs. Jawbone
Firmware upgradeable

Cons:
Disables the volume control on my Blackberry (when using headset)
Does not automatically re-pair with my Blackberry
Proprietary connector

All in all, a really, REALLY nice headset in most every way., 2008-08-29
This headset (The BlueAnt Z9i) is the second one I've used. Originally I bough the Motorola H12 Pure. To compare the two would be next to impossible, as they are both definitely top-of-the-line headsets. Though the Z9i actually seems to have a bit more of a snug fit in my ear. As far as sound quality, the Z9i is just as good as the H12. In fact, the reception is sometimes so good and loud that I've been told by friends and family that some of my calls can be heard from across the room; subsequently I've had to turn the volume way down so it doesn't hurt my ear.

The only reason I can think of as to why I gave the Z9i only 4 out of 5 stars is due to the noise cancellation's two settings: standard and max mode(s). I just don't see the point in having two settings. Why not have only one, just maximum? Plus, when on a call and I switch over to max noise cancellation, it automatically goes back to the default standard mode after the call is over and I hang up. As far as I'm concerned--if there must be two settings--once the max. noise cancellation mode is switched on, it should stay this way even after the call is over. In other words, I should be able to choose which mode the headset is set to, and I should only have to do this once, not call after call, after call, etc... Regardless though, keep in mind, both the standard and the max. modes work great and they seamlessly switch from one to another, even if it must be done during every call.

In a nutshell, I'm glad I got the Z9i from BlueAnt. It's quite east to use, weighs virtually nothing, charges quickly, has a long battery life, has great reception and noise cancellation, fits nicely, and sounds just great. It's a good investment, especially for someone like me who uses their cell very often due to the fact that it's their only phone. Plus, as with most any bluetooth headset (with voice-dial), it makes talking while driving SO much safer.

All in all, the BlueAnt Z9i bluetooth headset is a really, REALLY nice headset.BlueAnt Z9i Bluetooth Headset (Black)Black Ultra Slim Hard Shell Bluetooth Carrying Case for BlueAnt Z9 Z9i X3 V1 V12

love it, so will you, 2008-08-21
I've owned my blueant z9i now for about a month and I love it. It works like a champ. People can hear me clearly and I can hear them clear as well. The earpeice is delicate, so if you are one of those people that mistreat their electronics, this may not be for you. Other than that, it's great
