User reviews Not a perfect fit, but good enough, 2007-10-10 The package comes simple. Just the cover in a plastic wrap, and no instructions. Even so, it did not take me very long to figure out how to put it on. Despite what other people say, it was not very difficult at all. Instructions are probably not necessary, unless you are really impatient.
The smokey clear rubber makes the phone look very nice. It wraps around the phone relatively tightly, but it isn't skin tight. It is not a perfect fit. You will find that the holes that are created in the rubber skin do not match up with the ports very well. You will most likely need to adjust it.
Sometimes there are unnecessary holes. There is a hole to access the latch for the back cover to get to the battery. This makes no sense as the battery cap is held on by the cover. There is no hole where the microphone for the phone is. The microphone for the phone is found near the red End Call button. You will see a small indentation. By poking a small hole in the corresponding area of the cover, you can prevent muffled sounds.
Of course, the phone becomes overall bulkier. If you don't want it to be bulkier, don't buy covers period. Maybe a screen protector is more in your area.
Cons aside, the greatest thing about this cover is that the cover can remain on while you're opening your phone. There are very few functional covers such as this one for slider phones. The button functions are not hindered that much (only a little bit). The rubber cover will have grooves that fit onto the phone buttons rather nicely.
The sliding movement will seem a bit more resistant at first, but you'll get used to it easily.
This rubber cover does not protect the screen, I recommend getting the screen cover as well for full protection.
It doesn't come with a clip, but that's ok since I don't like using the clip. If you want a clip, this isn't the cover for you. Great protection for your Nokia 5300 a la iPod's iSkin!, 2007-07-06 I was excited to find this product at [...] since there was no case protector products available for the Nokia 5300 [...]
I must say that I got what I expected. A very iPod iSkin-like cellphone case protector for my Nokia 5300.
As the other reviewer stated, the item did not come with instructions on how to put it on your Nokia 5300, but with a little patience you can figure it out. I think it was a bit of trial and error until you are able to get it on, but once you have it one, it's a very snug fitting case for the phone in my experience.
The only negative thing about this protective case is that it does NOT protect your LCD screen, which is quite big. I would recommend you keep the LCD plastic coating that originally came on the phone - don't peel it off - or go buy some at Apple or Target or wherever you can buy iPods.
I like that the protector does keep the rest of the phone from getting scratched, adds a nice cushion to it in case if it does fall down, and well, it provides easy access and use when you have to slide your phone to access the numeric pad.
Overall, this is a great product which was delivered rather quickly from Boxwave, so that was great too.
Highly recommended. FlexiSkin, 2007-05-22 I like the feel of the FlexiSkin and the fact that it covers the buttons without hindering its functionality. However, the FlexiSkin did not fit the Nokia 5300 snugly. Instructions were not included, and I didn't know what to expect. The FlexiSkin has a slide mechanism that could have been on the right side as well as the left; it could have been damaged during insertion of the phone. The FlexiSkin broke (it separated from the groove, un-fixable) within 2 weeks of purchase; what a waste of money.
