User reviews Pops off the clip, 2008-07-01 I found that when I bent down, I could pop the phone off of the clip. I had this happen several times and almost lost my phone -- it did get pretty banged up (when it did fall off -- I was lucky not to lose the cellphone. I do not recommend this item for this reason. GREAT look, feel, function. One small problem., 2008-03-27 I have a brown (champagne) DLX, and thought the color of the phone would be a little darker. So getting the BodyGlove case really improved the look of the phone to me.
With no instructions except for a small basic illustration with arrows and pics (I figured out what they meant after messing around for a while and breaking the clip in the process), it took me a few minutes to figure out how to fit the phone in snugly. Once it was in, and the button snapped on the back top, the case fit like a ... well, you know.
The numbers of the Katana DLX are still easy to use even with the clear plastic covering of them, which is no small feat considering the DLX buttons don't have much tactile feel to begin with). All the side buttons are accessible, with no cover over them or the photo lens. Although the plastic part that covers the front screen gathers some dust after a few weeks, it easy to take off and clean.
The construction of the case is solid, although there are a few threads coming off the stitching on the back. I haven't dropped the phone yet (in the toilet or elsewere), however it seems the case would do a pretty good job protecting the phone from a 3-4ft drop, as long as it landed on the case part and not the phone directly.
As for protection from water, the case would not prevent a lot for full immersion. The plastic part would protect the screen somewhat, but water could still get into the buttons. Rain protection - moderate, with better protection when the phone is closed.
There are screened holes for the speaker areas.
Overall, I really like this case, both for function and looks. It has a rubber-like feeling to it, yet with a soft outside (almost like neoprene). My major complaint is that no instructions were included, although I'm sure a lot of people figured it out without breaking it.
It's a scuba suit for your phone! Perfect Case!, 2008-02-26 This case is absolutely marvelous! It fits exactly as portrayed in the online pictures! It is completely functional, affords access to every necessary feature of the phone and is extremely protective. It is well made, the high quality is evident in every stitch and seam and it's definitely a perfect match for this phone. I have two DLX's so I purchased 2 cases and had them shipped for a total that was less than the price of just one without shipping from Bodyglove.com! The DLX is a $330 phone so it only makes sense not to skimp when buying a protective cover. It is so perfect, I'm going to order a couple more! Different colors would be nice but black is simply classic. Highly reccomended!
