No matter how hard I try, I can't pin down an exact launch date for you in regards to the Blackerry Storm 2. We've received numerous tips with several different dates, but until now, I hadn't found verifiable proof of the dates that were sent to me.
On the other hand, my buddy Simon Sage at IntoMobile received a screenshot of Verizon's internal systems, which clearly shows a launch date of October 28th (see red text in the picture). ...
October 21st is here, and it looks like the wait is going to continue for the Storm 2. Despite the letdown, don't lose all hope. Best Buy has officially received their dummy units, with some stores placing them on display (on my routine visit to one of our Best Buy stores yesterday, I didn't see it out).
The prevailing thought here is that the device will launch in early November, hence the dummy unit and "coming soon" sign...
Though the official announcement hasn't been made yet, it's a given that Verizon is launching the Storm 2. We've seen countless reviews across the internet, complete with Verizon branding, and various rumors point to a late October or November launch. Despite the lack of an official upgrade program for original Storm owners, RIM and Verizon aren't leaving you in the dark.

Until now, the rumors surrounding the BlackBerry Storm 2 have varied depending on the outlet, but a leaked internal screenshot clearly shows October 21st as the official launch date. Dummy phones are beginning to arrive in Verizon Wireless retail stores, screen shots and accessories have been spotted at Best Buy, and demo units are beginning to pop up in the wild - all signs of an imminent release.
