Matthew it really comes down to your taste. Here is what I know and think though. It is my opinion so take what you want from it. That said I bought the Eris over the droid when it came out to save some coin. I liked it enough but the screen is small and I don't like the track ball. I took it back and upgraded to the droid. The droid is large. It is heavy. It is fast. and does do the things I need it to do very well. I am a salesperson for an International produce company and needed a phone for business. I was a blackberry user but the storm sucked so hard that I wouldn't go back. There IS one BAD point to the droid though. You will pay more for the speed and so on but a lot of to do is made over the physical keyboard. It does take some time but is decent. BUT the on screen keyboard is so responsive (like the Eris but bigger) that I never use the physical keyboard. I paid more for that option and the fact that I don't use it makes me kind of sick I spent the money. Like I said it is a taste thing but I think the Droid is the winner in this contest, for me anyway. Other than size they are similar. The droid is faster but it isn't by a lot. It has wow factor that the eris doesn't as the eris looks like every other touch screen. Those are the main differnces the rest is a wash. Again my opinion.

The Moto is on the android 2.0 OS and the Eris is 1.5
