Noah sets out to unbox the Krave and winds up getting in depth with it. It's not the "Kravvy," but it is a touchscreen phone with VCast TV and a unique clear flip. Pros: V CAST, crisp widescreen, 3G, VZ Navigator, visual voice mail, neat touch-flip form factor. Cons: touch screen and flip are unpredictable at best, it feels strange against the cheek. The Motorola Krave ZN4 is the first of it's kind in the US; it's got a 2.8" touch screen with a clear flip that is also touch-sensitive. Users across the pond have seen this idea expressed in the Ming, and the touch-flip novelty is a key selling point for this... I'm "at" the Motorola Virtual Press Conference where they're launching the Krave ZN4 for Verizon. No surprise here, as this device was leaked far and wide. But it still sounds pretty interesting - it's a flip phone with a touchscreen and an "interactive flip." Apparently the clear plastic flip cover has touch controls so you can access frequently used functions without opening the device up.
Krave looks like it's going to... Motorla's MING series of Linux-based, touchscreen smartphones have been pretty popular overseas but never really seen the light of day here in the US. Sure, you could pick up an unlocked GSM MING via CompUSA or an importer, but without carrier backing most Americans had no idea that MING was a phone and not *just* a dynasty from their history books.
Looks like Verizon Wireless is aiming to change all of that with the introduction of... What do you think about WinMo?If you have no objections I would also check out the HTC Touch Pro and the Samsung Omnia. They are both feature rich phones, with interfaces over Windows Mobile 6.1 so that you don't need to be a smartphone person to use it. :)If you don't go with either of these the Glyde would be my vote.Hope this helps... it depends, the krave zn5 will be coming out soon and the dare sucks, the glyde has slide qwerty and has bugs fixed,
the versa will be coming out soon and it has touchscreen as well as attachments I saw the crave at a verizon store and the touchscreen wasn't opperating well. the glyde is good for texting but the top row is hard. i suggest the dare (for texting or just a cool phone) or glyde (for a good web browsing experiacnce. go with the glyde the fixed the bugs and the problems are mostly gone it has slide qwerty and touch as well as a nice design if you have problems email me at touchhacker@touchhacker.com When I initially looked into Verizon the Motorola Krave ZN4 was a major selling point for me. Dual touchscreens. Visual Voicemail. The ability to get mobile tv on it as well as Rhapsody - I was sold. So I bought the phone and a few weeks later the fun wore off for me. So I gave it to my wife and then went with the LG Dare. Now the Dare is a nice touchscreen feature phone. Very responsive and the call... Krave cannot stand up to the Voyager. Krave is a hott phonnee, id go with that, tthe glyde is also good but have not used that so much so iwouldnt know but i have used the krave and dare just sucks str8 up I like touchscreen phones and I'm willing to buy the: LG Dare / Samsung Glyde / Motorola Krave.Or Suggest any nice phones on Verizon. Can't get Blackberry's.PLEASE!!!!!THANKS TO ANYONE WHO WRITES. I would like any phone under $200. personally i think the lg voyager is better because it has two screens and the qwerty rocks also the krave is no that pretty
