Here she is; Sprint's vanilla Android alternative to the Hero. With a full hardware QWERTY, an 800 MHz processor, and a luscious AMOLED display, I'd say Moment is a good contender. The Samsung Moment announcement was yesterday, but due to the crowded nature of the actual event, the hands-on footage was rushed. Fortunately, we met with Sprint executives who gave us a personal tour of the device and its capabilities. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Samsung announces their first U.S. Android device, the Moment. It even has Pac-Man! Verizon jumped into the Android game with both feet last Friday, selling the much hyped Motorola Droid and its more-than-capable little Sis, the HTC Droid Eris in stores across the nation. With the US' number one wireless carrier now selling phones built around Google's Android OS, the platform is poised for a big uptick in mass consumer adoption. Heck, AT&T might even start carrying a Google phone before too long.

Sprint went ahead and formally announced the Samsung Moment, an Android OS phone powered by an 800 MHz processor and featuring a side-sliding QWERTY board and 3.2" AMOLED touchscreen. Moment will be available from Sprint November 1st for $179.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 rebate.
And yes, Moment will support Pac-Man. Seriously, it was in the media kit. I love Pac-Man. Not as much as Galaga, but still.
