With almost all of the complaints we had with the original VX-8500 addressed the VX-8550 easily earns a spot on our list of top music phones. By adding vibrate touch music controls and stepping up to 4GB memory card slot the 8550 now sets itself apart from the competition.

I bought a chocolate Lg 8500 cell phone. I am having a lot of problems downloading my songs from the memory card to my cell phone, is there any advice you can give me on how to attach the card on the phone or do you need to buy a special cord?

I've read/heard a lot of complaints about putting your own music on Verizon phones in general, and the Chocolate in particular. I know that the official instructions are to transcode your music using Windows Media Player and then load it onto the phone's memory card. So if you don't do that, there's a good chance your music won't be recognized, or will be recognized but won't play (or will play but will display wrong/missing ID information).

Very easy to put MP3's on the card. FIRST make sure you have set the card up in the phone as the location of music pictures etc. then take the card connect it to the computer and drag and drop MP3 files into the music folder

I'm having trouble putting music from my computer onto my phone. I've heard people who own the phone say that you need to find a folder that gets put on your computer the first time you connect the device, but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Could someone please help me out with this?

To: Mike Stevens Go back to Windows Media Player and your SYNC LIST. Now, go to your LG VX8500. Go to the MENU. Go to MY MUSIC. At the bottom of the list, select 8. SYNC MUSIC. Select 1. GET TUNES AND TONES. Then select 3. MY MUSIC Then select 8. SYNC MUSIC Your device should now be connecting with Windows Media Player. A window will have popped up asking to name the device. Don't worry about it. Just click FINISH. Your device should now have been connected. Select START SYNC and you should be able to upload all your music into you LG VX8500.

Now this phone has had some problems for a lot of people me included.. But it can work on all computers even an emachine which seem to give teh most difficulty.. Im not the best person with a computer but i figured it out.. do this in order___ |. plug in your usb hooked up to the phone {DO not SYNC} 2. you'll want to go into the device manager in control panal and look for the modem (the problem is it is seeing it as a modem not an ipod device) you'll want to uninstall it as a modem 3. this i have no idea if it did anything at all but in device manager i went to the port and found the LG phone as a listed device I change the port to a lower number as 2 - 4 (in the proporties) and then i diasble the box option in the advanced options. this will be hard to understand. sorry 3. then i put the cd in the drive 4. I installed the first option which was to install the driver (take no mind to when it says now plug in usb!! and do not go into snyc mode!!!!! ) 5. then after number one ist installed install number 2 and after the installation is completed when you are at the last screen before you load into the music essentials manager you need to snyc you phone up finaly... go into the thing and download your music.. Now certian problems might occur you need to snyc at the appropriate time or you will confuse and bugg out the computer and also you can retry this as many times as you want as long as you know where to go and look for the installed files and device manager connections.. you can go into device manager which is in control panal and uninstall all the LG chocolate connections should be found in 3 to 4 locations 1 modem 2 port 3 universal blah blah 4 possible portibal device uninstall then all and retry if you need to. If you get a message MTL device not found you need to retry you snyc to ealry or to late. now i wrote this up really fast so ill check on it later let me know if im being to vague on issues i hope this is helpful
