With almost all of the complaints we had with the original VX-8500 addressed the VX-8550 easily earns a spot on our list of top music phones. By adding vibrate touch music controls and stepping up to 4GB memory card slot the 8550 now sets itself apart from the competition.

Our fancy algorithm says this stuff is related...

Wednesday, August 08, 2007|. plug in your usb hooked up to the phone {DO not SYNC} 2. you'll want to go into the device manager in control panal and look for the modem (the problem is it is seeing it as a modem not an ipod device) you'll want to uninstall it as a modem 3. this i have no idea if it did anything at all but in device manager i went to the port and found the LG phone as a listed device I change the port to a lower number as 2 - 4 (in the proporties) and then i diasble the box option in the advanced options. this will be hard to understand. sorry 3. then i put the cd in the drive 4. I installed the first option which was to install the driver (take no mind to when it says now plug in usb!! and do not go into snyc mode!!!!! ) 5. then after number one ist installed install number 2 and after the installation is completed when you are at the last screen before you load into the music essentials manager you need to snyc you phone up finaly... go into the thing and download your music..

Monday, August 06, 2007Now this phone has had some problems for a lot of people me included.. But it can work on all computers even an emachine which seem to give teh most difficulty.. Im not the best person with a computer but i figured it out.. do this in order___ |. plug in your usb hooked up to the phone {DO not SYNC} 2. you'll want to go into the device manager in control panal and look for the modem (the problem is it is seeing it as a modem not an ipod device) you'll want to uninstall it as a modem 3. this i have no idea if it did anything at all but in device manager i went to the port and found the LG phone as a listed device I change the port to a lower number as 2 - 4 (in the proporties) and then i diasble the box option in the advanced options. this will be hard to understand. sorry 3. then i put the cd in the drive 4. Now certian problems might occur you need to snyc at the appropriate time or you will confuse and bugg out the computer and also you can retry this as many times as you want as long as you know where to go and look for the installed files and device manager connections.. you can go into device manager which is in control panal and uninstall all the LG chocolate connections should be found in 3 to 4 locations 1 modem 2 port 3 universal blah blah 4 possible portibal device uninstall then all and retry if you need to. If you get a message MTL device not found you need to retry you snyc to ealry or to late. now i wrote this up really fast so ill check on it later let me know if im being to vague on issues i hope this is helpful

Friday, June 08, 2007To: Mike Stevens Go back to Windows Media Player and your SYNC LIST. Now, go to your LG VX8500. Go to the MENU. Go to MY MUSIC. At the bottom of the list, select 8. SYNC MUSIC. Select 1. GET TUNES AND TONES. Then select 3. MY MUSIC Then select 8. SYNC MUSIC Your device should now be connecting with Windows Media Player. A window will have popped up asking to name the device. Don't worry about it. Just click FINISH. Your device should now have been connected. Select START SYNC and you should be able to upload all your music into you LG VX8500.

Saturday, May 19, 2007I'm having trouble putting music from my computer onto my phone. I've heard people who own the phone say that you need to find a folder that gets put on your computer the first time you connect the device, but I haven't been able to find anything like that. Could someone please help me out with this?

Wednesday, January 03, 2007I've read/heard a lot of complaints about putting your own music on Verizon phones in general, and the Chocolate in particular. I know that the official instructions are to transcode your music using Windows Media Player and then load it onto the phone's memory card. So if you don't do that, there's a good chance your music won't be recognized, or will be recognized but won't play (or will play but will display wrong/missing ID information).

Monday, December 25, 2006I bought a chocolate Lg 8500 cell phone. I am having a lot of problems downloading my songs from the memory card to my cell phone, is there any advice you can give me on how to attach the card on the phone or do you need to buy a special cord?

Summer of Phones: Verizon Announces Dare, Decoy, and Chocolate 3

Big Red today made official what we already knew: Three new LG handsets will be hitting VZW stores over the next month. The big prize here is the LG Dare, Verizon Wireless' entry into the Touchscreen Media Phone sweepstakes.  Like iPhone, Vu, andInstinct, Dare will be a candybar with a full touchscreen on the front, and ups the ante with a 3.2MP camera with video capture and some kind of fancy system that "adapts to low or unevenly...

Top ten best selling phones of the third quarter

Did you guess the iPhone or maybe the Chocolate by LG? Both would seem likely contenders to take the top spot, but unfortunately they didn’t even make the top three! The infamous Motorola Razr V3, yes the original version out sold all other consumer models to take the top spot for the third quarter. Part of its staying power has to be attributed to the fact most of the carriers offer the V3 for free with new service. Motorola actually faired...

    Mini-Review: BlackBerry 8220

The first ever flip BlackBerry is a winner, so long as you play to its strengths.  While the 8220 is very large for a modern day flip phone, it's lightweight and slick looking enough to trick you into thinking it's a little smaller than it really is.  I've had the 8220 for just under a week now, and I very quickly grew used to carrying it around in my pocket.  No, it's not as thin as a RAZR or as small as a low-end sliderphone,...

Better Signal: Great tips and tricks for Verizon devices

    Better Signal: Verizon

Lane Jensen in Oregon here and I have a great trick that works for all Verizon phones to get better signal. First, you need to be within about a 5-10 mile radius of where you are going to use your phone the most. Secondly, instead of dialing the normal *228 for activation, dial *22899 and it will take you instantly to the programming music and update your phone. No more having to go through the prompt and listening to the same old voice saying,...

Hey, look what just came!  Thanks, Vanessa ;-)  Here are some photos of the black LG Lotus for Sprint.  The QWERTY board feels GREAT so far, as those bubbled chiclet-style keys make up for the relatively small size of the layout.  Sprint's new One Click UI is sort of cool and helpful and sort of overdone; I'll have to play with it more, but I hope it winds up being handier more often than it gets in the way.  And I'm...
