Top touchscreen phones
List and ranking of the best touchscreen cell phones on the market today from Noah Kravitz. Coming Soon: Apple iPhone 3G (AT&T), LG Dare (VZW), BlackBerry Thunder (Verizon), Samsung i900 Omnia (Possibly to AT&T) iPhone sets the bar when it comes to touchscreen phones. The multitouch display is the most responsive on the market by a good margin, and it offers gesture-based controls like pinching, swiping, and double-tapping that combine with Apple's user interface to make for a really fun experience for the user. iPhone's multimedia features and Web browser are second to none, and the forthcoming iPhone 3G will add high speed data and many... Sprint's flagship phone may not be the iPhone Killer they positioned as, but it's a very solid device just the same. Packed with more features than just about any other non-smartphone on the market, Instinct also features a very good touchscreen that's responsive, easy to use, and looks beautiful when displaying images and video clips. "You can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig," or so the saying goes. HTC dressed up Windows Mobile with their snazzy TouchFlo 3D interface, and put it on the Touch Diamond, a sleek, svelte touchscreen slider phone. Look for the Touch Pro, a slightly thicker model with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, later this Summer. Vu is AT&T's flagship Mobile TV phone, and it's both the best mobile TV phone I've ever seen and a great little touchscreen handset in its own right. The touch display isn't quite as big as a few of the others in this list, but it's pretty, bright, and easy to use. I've always been a fan of LG's colorful icons and menus, and Vu packs a lot of functionality into a sleek and very lightweight package. Verizon's flagship VCAST messaging device is a bit on the chunky side, but combines a full external touchscreen with a secondary internal display and full QWERTY keyboard. Voyager does mobile TV, VCAST video, VCAST music, and HTML Web browsing, and its unique horizontal-folding clamshell form factor means you can use it as a touch phone or opened up in "mini laptop" mode.
