Top Touchscreen Phones: LG Vu
Vu is AT&T's flagship Mobile TV phone, and it's both the best mobile TV phone I've ever seen and a great little touchscreen handset in its own right. The touch display isn't quite as big as a few of the others in this list, but it's pretty, bright, and easy to use. I've always been a fan of LG's colorful icons and menus, and Vu packs a lot of functionality into a sleek and very lightweight package. Our fancy algorithm says this stuff is related...Three hot touchscreen phones - which one's right for you? This is the loooong version of a head to head to head between Instinct, Vu, and iPhone. If you're not up for 15 in-depth minutes, check out the short version for the summary. I headed to NYC to check out T-Mobile's new 3G data network. Doug and I pit the Samsung t819 against AT&T's LG Vu in a Mobile Web speed test. Doug and I run a speed test in Brooklyn: iPhone on EDGE vs Vu on 3G vs t819 on T-Mobile's new 3G network. Noah heads out to Brooklyn, NY and up to Doug's roof to check out AT&T Mobile TV on the LG Vu. This may be the coolest new handset of the year so far. LG's Vu is a touchscreen phone with a 2MP camera, media player, 3G data, and AT&T's new Mobile TV service. I unbox it and give a quick overview. From the Emerging Technology Awards area at CTIA 2008 Las Vegas last week, Noah recorded Unlocked episode #4. This episode highlights the best phones of the show, other successful devices, and a rumored 3G iPhone coming soon.

is AT&T's premiere Mobile TV phone, though it also comes in a less
expensive version that's not compatible with the television service.
Both devices are sleek touchscreen phones that offer a nice,
lightweight industrial design complimented by LG's attractive... Q. Hey Noah!, I've been watching a lot of your videos lately and I have to say your doing a great job. Compared to other review people you just sound and act the best, Great Job. So ever sense I saw the outrageous $65 a month for the iphone 3G in Canada I've been looking at these new touch screen phones and I have a few questions.
1. I live in Canada and I'm guessing that the LG Glimmer provided by Alltel is the same phone... Q. Thanks for making all the great phone review videos, it really gives me a general idea of what is good and not so good when is comes to the cellular market. I actually work at an AT&T store in WA, and I currently have a dealer line through AT&T but for some idiotic reason they won't let me use the iphone on my dealer line. So what I was wondering is how comparable is the LG Vu to the iphone, when it comes down to general... According to a recent survey from CNN, mobile TV took the honors of most-wanted feature for consumers on their mobile phones. Have no fear, there are some great options rolling out on the market for those seeking a little portable on-screen entertainment. Check out two picks below from AT&T and Verizon.
In March, Samsung & AT&T announced Access, a candybar handset designed to support AT&T Mobile TV and Video Share video... The LG Vu went on sale today at AT&T, but apparently is only available in some areas just yet. When I headed to the ATT Wireless site and entered zip codes from here in the Bay Area (Oakland, San Francisco, Berkeley, etc), Vu didn't show up. When I switched to my old Brooklyn, NY Zip, I got the page. Hmm.
So your mileage may vary depending on where you live, but if you're interested you can give it a whirl. ... LG's Vu was maybe the most impressive new device shown at CTIA a month ago. While Samsung's Instinct grabbed the lion's share of the press (and not altogether undeservedly so), Vu quietly impressed me in a back-room briefing thanks to its responsive touchscreen, snappy menus, and light without feeling cheap candybar body.
Word on the street (well, Web), seems to be that the Vu CU920 has started showing up in AT&T stores a few... It's now live :)
