Apple iPhone-16GB Cell Phone
Noah examines today's preview of Apple iPhone OS 3.0 Beta. What's new, what's changed, and what does it mean? Phonedog_Noah is obsessed with twitter, so he checks out two popular iPhone twitter apps: Tweetie ($2.99) and Twitterific (the free, ad-supported version). Check out the hands-on review, and follow Noah at http://twitter.com/phoned... Noah's so much better after than before ... check out what the Vers 1.5R iPod dock and alarm clock did for his morning. Great sound, eco-friendly, and an iPod-compatible dual alarm. Here comes the sun! The old iPhone was tough as nails. iPhone 3G? Too fragile. Noah checks out the ifrogz Luxe case. It's a slim two-piece case that's dockable but has a few flaws. Bejweled + Sushi = Chop Sushi! Seriously. $2.99 at the App Store HP makes printing super easy - if you've got an iPhone or iPod Touch. Noah goes hands-on and wire-free with HP's iPrint Photo app and C5480 WiFi printer. Maybe we’ve been spoiled. There have been so many groundbreaking Apple products. Were our expectations too high? I don’t know, but the press event on Wednesday was definitely a letdown. (For the summary of announcements, click here.) Instead of a revolutionary whirlwind of change, we got a whimper, as well as some lingering questions to baffle over. Why did the Nano get a camcorder and not a still camera? And why didn’t the... If you saw Noah’s video coverage, Apple’s recent music-oriented announcements may not come as news. (If you haven’t, the links are included at the bottom of the page.) As a companion guide, here’s the written round-up, summed up here for your reading pleasure (or pain). First and foremost: The iPod Touch did not get a camera. Instead, it got a performance improvement. Adding insult to injury, its little brother, the Nano,... Well, it seems like today is tragic scenario day. After writing up a post about a bloody, graphic video from Wales featuring the dangers of texting and driving, I get a lead on a new iPhone app for emergency situations. If I had kids who wanted iPhones or iPod Touches, ICEBeacon would be the app that could convince me to get them. It’s an “in case of emergency” program that makes it simple to contact loved ones and provide... The Snow Leopard has landed. Mac users are well aware that the next iteration of Apple’s computer OS X has just launched, even though it hasn’t created quite the same buzz in the tech industry as previous Mac OS launches. The reason for that has to do with the fact that 10.6 is more of an enhancement of the previous version, rather than a complete overhaul. It may not be setting the general tech industry on fire, but interestingly,... Word on the street is that Apple’s fall event will take place on September 9. You know what that means: There will hopefully be something juicy on tap from the Cupertino-based iPhone maker. Details have been somewhat fuzzy on this, but according to sources reported by AppleInsider, the event will introduce the company’s 2009 iPod offerings and some music-related announcements, which will be of prime importance to iPod and iPhone... I love crime dramas, but one thing that always drove me a little nuts was how cell phone triangulation — at least on TV — rendered pinpoint accuracy of a perp’s whereabouts. Viewers could always see the primary dot as it traveled down the street, stopped in for coffee, got a newspaper, ditched the murder weapon, etc… Well, the new Google Latitude for iPhone isn’t quite the same as the technology delivered on Law & Order: SVU — but it’s kind... Pros: it is very usable Cons: IMO: more fragile than a wine glass; do not use outside do not expose to any humidity or it will die and Apple does not care!! Summary: IMO: There is no doubt; this is the coolest looking phone on the planet. but PLEASE dont fool yourself into thinking this phone is designed to survive everyday use. I am a professor, work inside at a desk all day. I keep the phone in my pocket or on the computer I sync with. At home its on a desk to charge. I never even made a phone call in the rain (you wont either, you'll just want to baby it). Nevertheless, after less than 6 months the phone stopped functioning and moisture sensors that are on the outside of the phone (if you can believe that; there is one in the headset jack and one in the main port cavity). At any rate Apple wont touch it and neither will ATT so you are out 500 bucks. So I opened it up in my electronics lab and the phone had no internal evidence of water exposure but was completely packed with lint. had the phone been exposed to water you would at least have expected the lint to have been clotted up but no. all of the internal moisture detectors were white indicating no exposure. The ATT coustomer service rep I spoke with indicated that he spends his day dealing mostly with Iphones that dont work and that Apple wont repair or replace. At this point it has only been out of 6 months. WOW! A quick search of the web will tell you all you need to know: According to what I have seen on the web people have been advised not to take it in locker rooms or bathrooms at home where there is a shower, keep it in a plastic bag, even "dont buy one they dont last" (that is was the ATT rep told me after it was too late). Dont believe me? look at how many "Iphone protectors" are available on line including "water proof" protectors. So if you can afford to replace the phone whenever it chooses to die then buy an Iphone; If you have the expectation that a phone should work in the real world the buy another phone from a quality company that will stand behind their product. 6 out of 10 people found this review helpful Pros: 1. Its a great Operating System 2. Its much sturdier than the previous iphone (I put this phone in my pocket without worrying, it can survive a fall. 3. The GPS. It doesn't speak to you like other GPS but if you only use casually walking in a street its pretty useful. 4. The App Store- this is the "cherry on top". Its great. Unlike other smatphones (except the Android) you can download apps from developers organized in on app. There's an app for everything and you wil find yourself spen Cons: 1. Monthly Service Price a little high 2. You will have to spend time cleaning it if you want to look Good... 3. I had to go thru a lot of trouble to get it Summary: Its a great phone. As mentions in the pros the operating system is great, very user friendly, it is a lot sturdier (it can survive a fall). It has GPS. You can download apps directly from the app store. Its the prettiest phone ever created. On the bad side, the monthly charge is expensive and you have to clean it to get the finger prints out. 2 out of 3 people found this review helpful Pros: The Apple iPhone 3G offers critical new features including support for high-speed 3G networks, third-party applications, and expanded e-mail. Its call quality is improved and it continues to deliver an excellent music and video experience. Cons: The iPhone 3G continues to lack some basic features that are available on even the simplest cell phone. Also, we prefer the original iPhone's design. Summary: I have already read the reviews of iphone and have to say that it is really awesome cell phone! Very cool that I'm not the owner of iphone (lol, I use Nokia N-Gage QD). So now I have the reason to buy iPhone! :) 2 out of 5 people found this review helpful All Apple iPhone-16GB user reviewsdefinatly the iPhone...its amazing and its getting even better every single day cuz of new apps and stuff....eventually, the iPhone will be considered a gaming system, and its already a multimedia system....its worth the price n it even has wi-fi on it! I didn't know you had to pay for updates, is there an article about this? That's insane! It's like buying the new 10.x for 150$ when it's a free service pack update in windows. really?dudei need a good phone and now i got the chanceeeeeeeeeshiet Yes, thats a good choice of using such a good product for iPhone scratches. i think the invisibleSHIELD by zagg is a much better product. :) I have had an iPhone for some time now, Its a great phone with alota great features. But its large area of a screen is bound to get scratched up! It did get scratches on it, i wanted to prevent that so i did a little research and found Phantomskinz.com They make protective non-scratchable patterns for phones and stuff. So i orderd one for my iphone and installed it myself. (wich was suprisingly easy) It fits perfect and there is no orange peal... [quote user="bellasera"]
So here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this:
1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?Yes the sim card must be associated with a currently active account
2. Can... So here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this:1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?2. Can another number be programed onto that SIM card?3. Can I simply use wireless instead of the T-Mobile service, or is... The feeling is mutual, i too am disgusted by apple's decision I just don't get how Apple has the balls to charge for a SOFTWARE update. What other company does that???
