BlackBerry RIM Pearl-8130 Amethyst Cell Phone
The Google Maps for mobile team announced that you can now speak your query instead of typing it on a certain BlackBerry devices (Pearl 8110, 8120, and 8130, US only). Using the same speech recognition engine as GOOG-411, the free directory assistance service, Voice Search for Google Maps is great in situations when you can text…like while driving in California as of this week. On Monday, QuickPlay Media announced a new service called “VideoStreams” that provides free video content for owners of BlackBerry smartphones in both the United States and Canada. BlackBerry owners will have a choice of music videos, comedy, horoscopes and extreme sports along with any new content as it becomes available. There is no word on how QuickPlay Media is able to offer such a service for free, but I would bet there is going to be some advertising before, during, or after... Verizon will start off the week by releasing the long awaited Palm Treo 755P. Unfortunately the 755p is no spring chicken as it has been available on Sprint for some time now and with rumors of a Treo 800 in the works it may appear as “too little too late” for those patiently waiting Verizon customers. Still it’s good to see Verizon continues to offer a diverse PDA/Smartphone lineup. The phone will be available online Monday December, 17th for $449 with a 2 year contract before any instant... Sprint (NYSE:S) today announced plans to offer the BlackBerry® Pearl 8130 next month, giving customers the complete BlackBerry smartphone experience, including exciting new multimedia and communications capabilities for both personal and business use. Sporting a thin, sleek design, this amethyst-colored smartphone supports the broadest range of Sprint Power Vision Services ever offered on a BlackBerry device. Besides accessing core capabilities like calendar management, personal and corporate... Sprint announced yesterday they will offer the Blackberry Pearl 8130 starting next month. The 8130 dubbed the “Pearl 2” is an updated version of the popular 8100 adding a 2.0 MP camera with video record, GPS, MicroSD slot, Stereo Bluetooth, 3.5mm headset jack and an improved media player and desktop manager.
Blackberry 8130 customers will be able to take full advantage of the Music Store, TV, OnDemand and Navigation services Sprint offers. Pricing has not been set, but I would expect to pay... Verizon Wireless today unveiled their much anticipated line up of new phones set to be available for purchase this holiday season. With more of a focus on the multimedia experience Verizon is now positioning itself nicely to compete with the “iPhones” of the world. Whether or not this move will attract new customers or simply hold on to the ones they currently have remains to be seen.
