Following a few weeks on the shelf to work out random shutdown issues, it looks like the Motorola-made Sidekick Slide is once again available to T-Mobile customers.  The Slide is back on TMob's Website, priced at $199 after a $100 rebate and your John Hancock on a two-year contract.

T-Mobile has been dealing with some issues caused by flooding up in Washington state earlier this week, so it's not too surprising that they haven't gotten around to issuing a formal statement about the Slide.  But it's nice that it's back - it's smaller and lighter than the Sidekick LX ... and a bit less pricey, too.  And hey, if you go out and buy one, drop us a line letting us know how it works, okay?

Check out the Slide from here.

Tuesday, January 22, 2008just purchased a sidekick slide today, me and my wife... i just searched google to find software, or even how to take advantage of all its features and low and behold I found a bunch of sites speaking negative or how they stopped selling them. I left the phone open for a few minutes charging, when I came back the screen stood black i pushed a few buttons and nothing happened, i closed it and opened it a few times for the screen to appear, whether or not it shut down, im not sure, it did take a few moments for the screen to appear and I found that to be very strange, seeing how its right out of the box! And that was before I read these posts. We have 14 days before we can return it if the problems consist. Hope this helps, Purchased in Swansea, Mass.

Sidekick Slide turns itself off – T-Mobile suspends sales
Unfortunately both T-Mobile and Motorola confirm that a number of Sidekick Slides may experience power cycling issues and have decided to suspend sales of the popular model until they find the source of the problem and a fix can be implemented. You would think that a phone that sports a sliding display would have been thoroughly tested before being released. Owners that are affected by the mysterious gremlin can call T-Mobile or head over to...
