iPhone Watch: AT&T Posts Inventory Updates; Red iPhone for Holiday SeasonA few notes from iPhone land (that's my fair warning to anyone tired of Apple, already, to just skip this post):
- AT&T and European carrier O2 have posted iPhone 3G inventory updates. The updates seem to be equal part public service notice for consumers and thinly veiled angry tirade at Apple to replenish their stock, already. A relevant snippet from AT&T's iPhone Media Kit page: "For those customers who have ordered through direct fulfillment, and have not yet received their iPhone 3G, here's a quick update on our current inventory:
AT&T handles direct fulfillment on a first-come, first-served basis, giving everyone an opportunity for stress-free shopping. As we receive new inventory from Apple, we are shipping it out immediately to fill customers' orders. We hope to begin re-stocking our stores as soon as we can, but first priority goes to those customers who purchased through direct fulfillment." - Rumors are swirling around a possible release of a red iPhone 3G in time for this year's holiday shopping season. The red iPhone would likely be a Product (RED) item, meaning that a percentage of each sale would go to The Global Fund to help women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa. Methinks this rumor is to be taken with a healthy dose of salt for the time being, no matter how cool you think a red iPhone might look. So if you like the idea of giving some money to a worthy cause, just go ahead and do it now - don't wait for a new gadget to simultaneously feed your tech cravings and help you give a little back to the world.

No Service." details a host of issues iPhone owners are having connections ranging from no data service...Noah Answers Your Questions - Can the iPhone 3G stay "new and fun"?Q. Hey Noah, love the site. Now if I got the Apple iPhone 3G, my Question is will it stay new and fun and not seem outdated after 2 years. I tend to get bored of phones after a little over a year. Thank you for your time. Keep up the good work on PhoneDog! A. I think iPhone will stay new and fun because of the App Store - there are new programs available for it every day, and since many of them are free, it's an easy way to make...iPhone 3G speeds: Wired study reveals network weaknessesAwhile back I ran a few 3G data speed tests on video, comparing iPhone 3G to a few other high-speed Web capable devices. My results led me - and some of you - to wonder if I was nuts, had somehow screwed up the testing, or maybe had just received a lemon of an iPhone from Apple and AT&T. Well, according to a survey just published by Wired, none of those things is true; instead, I merely live in one of the worst areas in the world...gPhone Watch: HTC Dream is smaller than iPhoneIf you follow the world of shiny digital gadgets, you know how this story goes. First some rumors about a new mobile phone get leaked. Then the FCC outs said phone to the world by way of official documents that go public on fcc.gov. Then, depending on the timing, either the handset is unleashed upon the world, ending all of the rumor mongering and speculation as to the details of its more juicy bits, or the handset maker does...Noah Answers Your Questions - Omnia or iPhone?Q. Noah, I was extremmely close to buying the iPhone until I saw the Samsung Omnia in your video. looks tight. how cool is it and is it up to par with the beast made by Apple? A. I've only had a little bit of hands-on time with Omnia but it definitely looks great. Omnia's a Windows Mobile device, so it should be somewhat similar to the HTC Touch Diamond in that you've got Windows Mobile 6 running underneath with a nicer layer of user...iFail: Apple admits muffing MobileMe, offers 60 more days freeI want to launch into a rant here. It'd go something like this: I've always used Apple products, have never bought a non-Apple computer, and have followed them with both personal and professional interest since first laid eyes on an Apple IIe back in elementary school, but I'm this close to calling it a day and moving on to the world of PCs. Apple's grown too fast for their own good, and quality control is suffering in a big...Good ChoiceYes, thats a good choice of using such a good product for iPhone scratches.Re: Iphone, Scratches!i think the invisibleSHIELD by zagg is a much better product. :)Iphone, Scratches!I have had an iPhone for some time now, Its a great phone with alota great features. But its large area of a screen is bound to get scratched up! It did get scratches on it, i wanted to prevent that so i did a little research and found Phantomskinz.com They make protective non-scratchable patterns for phones and stuff. So i orderd one for my iphone and installed it myself. (wich was suprisingly easy) It fits perfect and there is no orange peal...Re: iPhone Usage with T-Mobile
So here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this: 1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?Yes the sim card must be associated with a currently active account 2. Can...iPhone Usage with T-MobileSo here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this:1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?2. Can another number be programed onto that SIM card?3. Can I simply use wireless instead of the T-Mobile service, or is...Re: iPhone/Touch jailbreak 1.1.3 almost ready for publicThe feeling is mutual, i too am disgusted by apple's decisionRe: iPhone/Touch jailbreak 1.1.3 almost ready for publicI just don't get how Apple has the balls to charge for a SOFTWARE update. What other company does that??? I bought XP professional a couple of years ago and I still get updates for free!Re: iPhone/Touch jailbreak 1.1.3 almost ready for publicI have to say I am really dissapointed in Apple's decision to charge for the update! It has to be the worst PR misstep in a long time. I missed the return date by two days!!! Come on Jailbreak!iPhone/Touch jailbreak 1.1.3 almost ready for publicNothing annoys me more than having to pay for software upgrades that should be FREE! After all the person buying an iTouch today doesn't have to shell out an extra $20 to get the latest version of the software!!! [:@] "The iPhone development community has done it again. Software/firmware revision 1.1.3 has been jailbroken (full read/write access to the filesystem), meaning that unofficial third-party...Re: Nokia N95 8GB VS iPhone Apple 8GB
According to me Apple should just make computers and iPod, iPhone won't be successful.
Are you serious?? iPhone won't be successful? It already is successful and will continue to be so for the foreseable future. How long do you think it will take Apple to out sell the N95 oh I'm sorry it already has- Doh! |
