KickStart: BlackBerry flip gets positive early review
CrackBerry got their hands on the forthcoming BlackBerry KickStart 8220 way early and gave it a pretty positive first look. RIM's first BlackBerry flip is kind of a beast, size-wise, but the upside is that the QVGA display is big, bright, and beautiful, and the SureType keypad has giant buttons that are easy to type on.
A choice snippet from the review: "While I think the BlackBerry Pearl is good for both the ladies and gents, one of the ongoing arguments in the forums is the notion that Pearls are for Girls. For any guys who actually worry about this, rest-assured the KickStart is a more masculine SureType option in the BlackBerry family." And, as Engadget Mobile points out, the KickStart "could end up making a huge splash if it actually manages to launch at the sub-$50 price point that's been making the rounds on the rumor circuit." KickStart could be a great addition to T-Mobile's BlackBerry/messaging lineup, no?

Image courtesy of Crackberry.com Noah goes hands-on with the newest T-Mobile music phone, the Nokia XpressMusic 5610. It's a slider phone with a focus on music: 3.2MP camera with autofocus, VGA video capture, and mobile Email and IM clients? Good. 2.5mm headphone jack? Not as good. Check it out ... Noah's got the iPhone 3G and the old iPhone - the old one's jailbroken, unlocked, and running on T-Mobile. Side by side you can see how the unlocked version works just like the new one (minus 3G). All hail the iPhone-dev team! Also, check out the T-Zones hack for T-Mobile users! Unboxing the brand-new Sidekick - the T-Mobile Sidekick 2008. It's not called the "Gekko" after all, but it does feature interchangeable shells that let you customize the look. This new Sidekick also has a 2MP camera with video capture, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and lots more worth checking out. ROKR you like a Hurricane. Moto's new ROKR E8 features a morphing keypad, touch sensitive nav wheel, and 2MP camera. It's a T-Mobile exclusive. The 5300 was a neat little music phone, but chunky. The new 5310 is sleeker, slimmer, and sexier than the original. 2MP Camera, 3.5mm headphone jack, Stereo Bluetooth, myFaves, and a 1GB microSD card. And it's cheap, too! I headed to NYC to check out T-Mobile's new 3G data network. Doug and I pit the Samsung t819 against AT&T's LG Vu in a Mobile Web speed test. Today's shaping up to be a good one for digging through the FCC's
online goldmine. New filings have outed the Samsung T919, a
T-Mobile-bound GSM/EDGE/3G device (yup!) featuring a whole slew of
features - especially if you combine what seem to be facts from the FCC
documents with rumors that kicked around the Web a few weeks back.Best we can tell, the T919 will be a US version of the Samsung Tocco,
and will feature a 3" touchscreen... There's been a lot of talk over the past several months about Netbooks and now MIDs. Netbooks are ultra-light, ultra-portable, low cost laptop computers like the Asus Eee PC, MSI Wind, Lenovo S10, and Dell Inspiron 910 Mini - they generally have screens in the 7-10" range, run an Intel Atom or similar low-powered chip, and cost in teh neighborhood of $400-500 (or more, depending on the configuration). MIDs are smaller tablet-like... Thanks to everyone who commented & emailed me on this one. Turns out that T-Mobile simply changed the IP addresses on some of their servers, and T-Zones Web access was not cut off after all. Switching the addresses - most easily accomplished by way of an upgrade to Big Boss' T-Zones Hack (available via Cydia) - did the trick. Web access via T-Zones is restored and all is well again in the land of cheapskate iPhone... Forget the blurry spy shots; some very crisp and clear spy shots of the alleged HTC G1 Dream (aka the first Google Android phone) have surfaced. I'm going to bite my tongue on this one for now and ask you, dear readers: Is this supposed first Google Phone ugly as sin or dreamy as a newborn babe?
Before you answer, bear in mind that I'm not asking you about the potential of Android as a platform or HTC's track record making phone... This may be the end for me and T-Mobile. Well, I suppose that depends on how good the forthcoming Dream turns out to be, but that's besides the point ... I haven't had Web access on my iPhone for four days now, and I fear the worst: My days of unlimited Web access for $6/month via T-Zones may be over.
Don't get me wrong. I'm sad about this but I'm not complaining. I've been exploiting a known loophole in T-Mo's system for...

That is one of the main aspects of the Blackberry, it has always been know as a business phone, and that is how i will always look at them. If your just into texting and having fun go for the Instinct. I am trying to decide which phone to purchase. It's come down to the new Instinct or the Blackberry Curve 8330. I like the touch screen but also like buttons. Will I be able to download free games and apps for each device? . I want to be able to check email easily, surf a little(facebook, news etc), keep track of appointments and calendar, notes, How would playing word games work on a phone with no keyboard? Any feedback... [quote user="bellasera"]
So here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this:
1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?Yes the sim card must be associated with a currently active account
2. Can... So here is my question; I just recently purchased an iPhone in hopes of unlocking it. I found a lot of information explaining how to unlock the iPhone, however that is not my question. My question(s) is/are this:1. When using a T-Mobile SIM card that card needs to be paid for right (in other words it needs to be active)?2. Can another number be programed onto that SIM card?3. Can I simply use wireless instead of the T-Mobile service, or is... I can't get over how fast the BB processer launches programs! It makes me want to throw my Tilt threw the window!
Anybody know for sure when it will be available? Some people are guessing late 08, but if they wait that long its going to be to little to late.
Hurry up BB! Um nice try.... So how long have you worked for Wireless Galaxy?? You can get the Pearl 8100 for $100 less through Phonedog.com!! Why go to a site that is more expensive and doesn't give the consumer a choice of online merchants??
Hi,
Yes this cell is really cool.I found it really cheap from wireless galaxy with free home delivery and no sales tax.I ordered both Blackberry 8100 Pearl Blue as well as Blackberry 8100 Pearl White. My experience was great with www.wirelessgalaxy.com .:-D
The only way brown will ever work on a cell phone is if has a metalic pearl finish.
It really has to be glossy or else it will just look like??? well.....a turd
IMO Since when is brown a good color for a cell phone?
It looks like a Hershey candy bar [*-)]
I can't believe Microsoft paid $240 million for only 1.6% stake in facebook???
Makes me sick especially due to the fact the company is only 4 years old!!!!
